Anthony Shephard-Williams

Anthony has over fifteen years' experience in the research industry and joined Mustard in 2010. Passionate about using online methods for qualitative purposes, he has driven our online community proposition through, with a specific focus on respondent experience and building closer relationships to get the most out of them. Anthony's skills also extend to more traditional quantitative and qualitative methods, and he is also responsible for our quality management strategy.

Dave Darby

Dave has almost 20 years' experience of operations roles within the research industry, and has been with Mustard since 2012. He is a data-team lead on all aspects of the business related to management and delivery. This includes the design and scripting of online and CATI surveys, building interactive client portals and the production of data tables and outputs using our Confirmit platform.

David Hickson

For the past seven years David has managed his own market research business, working with a range of high profile FMCG brands.

Emma France

Job Titles:
  • Senior Research Executive
Emma became part of the Mustard team in September 2022, bringing six years of quantitative and qualitative research knowledge. Emma has substantial experience in the culture sector, having worked with a number of London Museums and Galleries during her research career; providing them with insights into customer experience, segmentation and exhibition development. Emma has both quantitative and qualitative experience and is keen to broaden her knowledge across a variety of sectors.

Francis Walsh

Francis has nearly 40 years' experience as an accountant and joined Mustard in 2011. In that time, he has worked for a broad range of Chartered Accountants across the North West, working with clients with turnovers in the small thousands up to £30 million. Francis arguably has the most important job of all, ensuring that our clients pay us, and we pay our suppliers and staff!

Gareth Hodgson

Gareth started his career with us in 2000, and following client-side roles with Iceland, Everton Football Club and Shop Direct Group, returned to Mustard in 2008. He became a director in 2014 with responsibility for our people strategy, and is passionate about ensuring that Mustard is a great place to work. Gareth has strong experience in the retail, leisure, building / construction and financial services sectors and draws upon his client-side experience to bring commercial context to research findings.

Hannah Barnsley-Knox

Hannah joined us in 2016 with a passion to develop a career in market research. Marrying her academic research experience with skills developed in a previous performance evaluation management role with NHS England, Hannah provides support on qualitative and quantitative projects, while also working alongside the marketing and business development team to co-ordinate campaigns and content. Hannah has an MSc in Psychological Research from Nottingham Trent University.

Hannah Crayk

Hannah brings with her over 15 years of experience in consultancy and research delivery. Over the past decade Hannah has built up a specialism in audience research, working with culture, leisure, heritage, nature and charity clients to improve their financial sustainability, deepen engagement and align audiences more strongly with her clients' causes. Hannah has a passion for understanding what makes people tick, using quantitative and qualitative insights to get to the heart of consumer needs and expectations. Hannah has a strong analytical approach, bringing complex data to life in a simple, accessible and engaging way. Prior to joining Mustard, Hannah worked for the creative agency Linney, the cultural consultancy Morris Hargreaves McIntyre and Heist (now Havas Education) an agency focused on higher education research.

Izzy Tooze

Joe Stanley

Joe joined Mustard in 2018, bringing broad primary and secondary research skills and experience to the team covering a range of key sectors. In his previous role at Mediacom he used a multitude of methods, resources and tools to deliver insight and identify key opportunities for both internal teams and clients. This included traditional and online quant and qual, alongside specialist tools for advertising tracking, audience profiling and social media listening. Joe has a First Class degree in Film and Media Studies from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Mac Posiewka

Mac joined Mustard in 2018 to provide data support to the research team. He is currently completing a Data Analyst Apprenticeship in order to become qualified as a Level 4 Data Analyst. Mac's role is focused on the effective delivery of data outputs through our Confirmit platform. This incorporates data verification and coding, online survey scripting and testing, and the production of data tables.

Richard Walker

Richard has over 20 years agency experience and joined Mustard as a director in 2008 with responsibility for our brand and marketing. He is passionate about using innovative and creative methods to make a difference for our clients, specialising in customer and market segmentations, new product development and behavioural research. Previously a board director at Nunwood where he established a film production division, Richard is a specialist in the effective dissemination of insights to drive strategic decision making.
