Liu lab employs multidisciplinary cutting-edge techniques to dissect genetic and epigenetic control of developmental gene expression using embryonic/adult stem cells as model systems. We interrogate the mechanisms of disease-causing mutations in gene regulatory elements and correct the mutations using CRIPSR/Cas9, base editor technologies for gene therapy.
