Sassafras is a new band, just a few years old. Sassafras are three seasoned musicians working hard at their craft, creating a unique acoustic blend of bluegrass, folk, and hillbilly rock. Sassafras, though only a trio, sure has a big sound. With Wanda's strong soulful voice, accompanied by Randy's rhythmic pattern style of bass playing, doused with Lori's hard-driving banjo playing with a sweet touch of melodic style, this group will have you tapping your toes and put a smile on your face. Sassafras enjoys nothing more than to share the magical music they create together with audiences both young and old... Sassafras came about when one of Lori's banjo students, Hector Solanes, introduced Lori and her husband, Randy to Hector's wife, Wanda. Randy and Lori were impressed with Wanda's voice and invited her back to pick a few tunes.
