T'ASHII

"T'ashii" is a Tla-o-qui-aht word meaning path on land or on water. At T'ashii Paddle School our vision is to create a path to learning and connection with the natural environment through paddling... T'ashii Paddle School is a unique ecotourism company that provides cultural tours and education based on Nuuchahnulth teachings and values. Part of our calling is to increase the understanding of indigenous history, including local impacts of colonization. Guides may share about contemporary struggles and successes in our communities also. At T'ashii we have been particularly lucky to work with several indigenous youths and to help develop their leadership skills through the training and work process. We hope that you find value and beauty here, in our homelands and with the sharing of our guides.
