Although I have long since moved away from Southwestern PA, the cookie table tradition continues to live on, both in Southwestern PA, and also in my heart. I have such fond memories of the wedding cookie tables I enjoyed as a child and young adult. Today, in Southwestern PA, nearly all weddings have a cookie table, in addition to a wedding cake. In fact, the cookie table has become more popular than the wedding cake itself. Today's cookie table still consists of all the traditional ethnic family recipes that have been handed down through the generations, and also makes room for everyone's favorites!
