Bill Kottmann

ottmann is the recently retired President and CEO of Edward Hospital, the flagship hospital for Edward-Elmhurst Health (EEH). EEH is a three-hospital health system with over $1.5 billion in annual net revenues, over 8,000 employees, and 1,700+ physicians, serving 2 million residents of the western suburbs of Chicago. EEH has earned a reputation as a leader in complex medical specialties and innovative programming. Kottmann was with EEH for 28 years, serving in various senior executive positions, including Chief Operating Officer and President of Edward Health Ventures. During his tenure, he has been responsible for the development and growth of key program areas including Cardiovascular Services, Ob/Gyn, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care,Neurosciences, Oncology, and Surgical Oncology. He has developed numerous joint ventures with independent physicians and various healthcare organizations in the areas of Women's Services, Reproductive Endocrinology, Neurosciences, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and an Ambulance Services Company. He has also spearheaded the development of the EEH ambulatory network to over 75 locations throughout the service area. As CEO for Edward Medical Group, he has led the growth of this hospital-owned multi-specialty physician group from its beginning to its current strength of over 550 providers.

Daniel Boyce

Daniel brings more than 30 years of innovative marketing and technology experience in a variety of industries. Daniel began his career in direct marketing for data communications equipment prior to what would become the internet. He quickly became an innovator by leveraging technology to develop a database-driven print catalog and later won Catalog Age's catalog of the year award and laid the foundation for access to a dynamic database that would become called a website. His pioneering work in both marketing and data science led him to invent a suite of web based applications to test, track and predict results for sophisticated customer acquisition and retention campaigns. The firm was one of Illinois' largest IPO's in 1999 and was sold in 2000 for $750 million. Daniel has help fuel exponential growth in both start up and Fortune 500 organizations holding both Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Information Officer roles. His in depth insight and understanding of marketing and technology provided him with opportunities early in his career to advise innovative Healthcare leaders like Cancer Treatment Centers of America. After leaving the corporate world Daniel helped a healthcare technology startup go from concept to commercial operation and led the organization's on the ground new customer acquisition through break-even working with large hospital systems and medical groups. The firms cloud-based platform was one of the healthcare industries first web native medical dictation, transcription and archival solutions, integrating seamlessly with the industries largest EMRs and empowering more than 100,000 healthcare providers.

David Lade - CFO

David brings over 30 years of experience as a financial executive, with leadership positions in a variety of industries, as well as public accounting. In addition to accounting, cash flow and compliance matters, the focus of his leadership is to use financial analysis to provide strategic insights to the management of the company and to external interested parties. David began his career in the commercial audit division of Arthur Andersen & Co., in their Cleveland office. He worked with a diversified client base of both private and public companies and specialized in information system reviews. He then joined one of his clients, a world leader in the distribution of industrial gases. As controller, he created the accounting department for a new wholly-owned subsidiary, formed by the merger of three acquired distributors. The subsidiary grew to 17 branches in three states, with annual revenues of $60 million. David then served as Chief Financial Officer for a software company, from start-up stage to over $10 million in annual revenue. He has also consulted with other growing businesses, as well as those with financial difficulties, in turnaround situations, and has participated in the sale of businesses, providing an exit strategy for business owners and investors. David received the Outstanding MBA Award from Wright State University, where he also received his bachelor's degree. He has also practiced as a licensed Certified Public Accountant, and a Registered Securities Representative.

Dr. James Stoll

Dr. James Stoll is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, and most recently practiced in Milwaukee, WI. After a long career making a difference in his patients' lives, he is now helping companies focused on changing how healthcare is delivered. He is a fellow or member of the American Academy of Orthopedics, the North American Spine Society, The International Society of Minimal Intervention in Spinal Surgery, the Wisconsin Medical Society, and the Wisconsin Orthopedic Association. Dr. Stoll holds his Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Mark Goodwin

Dr. Mark Goodwin is an interventional cardiologist at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute in Naperville. Dr. Goodwin graduated magna cum laude with his bachelor's degree at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois. He also completed an executive certificate program at Northwest Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Goodwin completed an internship and residency in internal medicine, and was also named associate chief resident, at Foster G. McGaw Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. At this same location, he also completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease and was named chief fellow. He serves as the Director of the Structural Heart Program, the Chief of Cardiology and the Director of the Cath Lab at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Dr. Goodwin is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, critical care medicine and endovascular medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiac Angiography, the American College of Chest Physicians and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the Illinois State Medical Society, the International Society for Endovascular Specialists, and the Society for Vascular Medicine. He is also a member of the Philips Medical Advisory Board. He has participated in 30 research trials serving as a principal investigator and sub-principal investigator. He is also a professor at both Loyola University and Notre Dame University.

Dr. Usman Siddiqui

Dr. Usman Siddiqui graduated from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He started his internal medicine training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, He then went on to complete his Cardiology and 2-year Electrophysiology fellowship training at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. Since completing his training, Dr. Siddiqui has gone on to gain extensive experience in the field of electrophysiology. He serves as the Chief of Electrophysiology services Advent Health Florida Central Florida division. He is also the Director of Electrophysiology at Advent Health Celebration and Nicholson center in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Siddiqui is also involved in academics, teaching, and consultations. As an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Central Florida, Dr. Siddiqui plays an active role in educating medical students, residents, and fellows to shape the next generation of physicians. Additionally, he works as a consultant in physician training and serves on the Advisory Board for several leading medical device companies and "start-ups". He is actively involved in several IDE trials with the Advent Health Cardiovascular research foundation. Dr. Siddiqui also remains very active as a fellow within both the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society.

John Cannon

John Cannon is an attorney with over forty years of experience in the health insurance and related sectors. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Health Care Service Corporation. From 2007 until 2014, Mr. Cannon was Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Public Affairs Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Anthem, Inc. (formerly WellPoint, Inc.) overseeing legal strategy, compliance, communications, corporate governance, litigation, public policy, government affairs, and the company's charitable foundation. In August 2012, Mr. Cannon was appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Anthem, Inc., following the departure of the company's CEO. Mr. Cannon served in that capacity for seven months until March 2013 and is widely credited with the company's turnaround. He earned his J.D. degree from The Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law.

Katie Obenberger

Katie brings extensive client service and training experience to The Hive. Most recently Katie was the Director of Training and Recruiting for a multi-state healthcare company. She was the architect of their patient experience training program that drove a significant change in patient retention. Additionally, she has an eye for talent and was able to secure high-performance employees within an extremely tight labor market. Previously, she was Director of Communications and Training for Ovation Hand Institute, a multi-location carpal tunnel surgery center. She led the patient-first training program and managed the process and procedures for addressing patient questions and concerns regarding a new surgical technique. She also served as Director of Communications for Smart Choice MRI, developing and executing customer service training that was adopted across a team of over 130 employees. Additionally, Katie has experience at a leading customer service-based property, the Broadmoor. This set a strong foundation that she has brought to all her roles throughout her career. Richard Kennedy - President

Rich is a cardiac device veteran with over 25 years of experience across the industry including the manufacturing process, implanting devices, the vendor model, and the contracting process. His knowledge stems from significant experience with implant companies such as Intermedics, Guidant/Boston Scientific, St. Jude Medical/Abbott, and assisting in more than 5,000 cardiac device implants. Rich currently serves as President for The Hive. Previously, he founded Shockbox Consulting in 2014 to address the challenge of preserving physician choice in the vendor contracting process. Rich was determined to find a way to keep all vendors at the table while lowering the cost of devices for hospitals and health systems. He was successful in securing $20 million dollars in cardiac implant device savings, while still allowing physicians to use their chosen vendor and device. Rich earned his B.A. in Telecommunications/Marketing from Ball State University.

Rick Anderson - CEO, Chairman

For more than 25 years, Rick Anderson has been at the forefront of healthcare innovation. A visionary leader who is passionate about improving healthcare delivery, Rick has been part of several of the best-known and highly successful online health-related services and is a leader in consumer-driven, retail healthcare solutions. Rick currently serves as chairman and chief executive officer for The Hive, a company focused on lowering the cost of care and improving care. Previously, he was chairman and chief executive officer for Smart Choice MRI, an independent MRI provider with a consumer-focused model offering exceptional quality and patient experience for a transparent value. Under Rick's leadership, the company was sold to Rayus Radiology, after he built Smart Choice MRI from one clinic in Milwaukee, WI to a multi-state operation with 16 clinics across the Midwest. He also has served as senior vice president of the pioneering health and wellness platform Sharecare, where he was one of the original team members. At Sharecare, Rick spearheaded expansion and integration efforts, forging partnerships with key health networks. Additionally, Rick was one of the first five employees at WebMD and led business development efforts in the Western and Midwestern markets. He also served as an executive team member for a number of other healthcare businesses including QDS and Endeavor Technologies. Rick is committed to helping other businesses develop and is an active member of several boards. Rick earned his B.A. in history from Bethel University.
