MACONDO

Well Integrity Indonesia (PT. WII) was established on 11 April 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia to answer the requirements of managing good well integrity, primarily in Upstream Oil and Gas Industry in Indonesia. The requirements to have good well integrity management system becomes very important since the BP Macondo Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico in April 2010 that caused 11 fatality and severely damage the environment. This accident costs BP and partners more than USD 60 billion. In Indonesia, there are several examples of well integrity incidents happened such as : Blow-out during workover TN-C144 well in Mahakam Block (November 2013), Weriagar-05 and 07 and Wonocolo W-43 during production by local people (July 2013 and November 2014 respectively), blowout during re-entry NGBUP-4 exploration well in Nglobo, Blora (December 2014) and the latest was in Jatibarang RDG-47 during workover (February 2016). In Indonesia, up to now, more than 50,000 wells have been drilled.....
