Urban Scholar Academy was created to close the achievement gap of minority students in Kindergarten-12th grade within the Inglewood area... Our mission is to transform the lives of urban youth through academic enrichment and community service opportunities for students in Kindergarten-12th grade... Urban Scholar Academy believes that when young people are exposed to community service opportunities they develop the necessary skills and traits it takes to become transformative leaders that become motivated and actively engaged in school; and learn to take responsibility for the well-being of their surrounding communities.
