Brad Dowd joins Wiseman Ashworth Trauger as Of Counsel after having practiced law in Kansas City, Missouri for the past 21 years. Brad has extensive experience in defending health care professionals in state and federal courts, as well as before state licensing boards. He has tried dozens of jury cases to a defense verdict and is a tireless advocate for his clients. A 1997 graduate of The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, Brad is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, and DRI. Brad's wife is also an attorney. In addition to practicing law, Brad is a musician, who writes and records music, and enjoys playing golf.

Gail Vaughn Ashworth

Gail Vaughn Ashworth has been successful in high profile cases ranging from defense of health care institutions and individuals to obtaining one of the largest wrongful death verdicts for the plaintiff in Tennessee in a product liability case and success in one of the nation's most notorious family law cases. Her diverse trial practice spans nearly three decades and ranges from personal injury to insurance coverage, employment law and medical ethics. Regardless of the case, her commitment is always the same: hard work for the client, tenacity in her advocacy and excellence in the profession. A founding member of Wiseman Ashworth Trauger PLC, Gail has extensive experience at the civil and administrative trial and appellate levels as both defense and plaintiff's counsel. She also is a Tennessee Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator with over fifteen years' experience as a mediator. She has a strong mediation and arbitration practice and is known for her fairness and experience in health care, personal injury, product liability, insurance law, administrative and employment law. Gail is also widely known and respected for her leadership roles in the legal profession and the community. She is a past president of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations, a trustee of the Nashville Bar Foundation and she is involved in state and national organizations that teach leadership to lawyers-TBA Leadership Law and the ABA/TIPS Leadership Academy. In addition to serving as president of her state and local bar associations, Gail is particularly proud of having chaired the Tennessee Justice Center, Inc. Board of Directors from 2006-2008, the Tennessee Legal Community Foundation in 2010 and the Legal Aid Society/Nashville Pro Bono Annual Campaign for Justice in 2011. Gail also regularly speaks at continuing legal education seminars and was a faculty member and student mentor for the 2012 ABA/TIPS/ABOTA National Trial Academy at the National Judicial College. She serves on several non-profit boards and is a member of a local hospital medical ethics committee. Gail Vaughn Ashworth has practiced civil litigation in Nashville, Tennessee, since 1983. Johnson Laney Certified as Healthcare Ethics Consultant: Johnson Laney is now... Johnson Laney joined Wiseman Ashworth Trauger as an Associate Attorney in May of 2022. He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in May 2019. During law school, Johnson was the President of the Health Law Society and the recipient of the State Bar of Georgia Health Law's Alan Rumph Award. He was an Editorial Member of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and recipient of the Journal's 2018 Best Short Note Award. While in law school, Johnson was a Compliance Intern at Emory Healthcare and an Ethics and Risk Management Intern at Memorial Health University Center in Savannah, Georgia. Prior to law school, Johnson attended Emory University and Oxford College of Emory University. Before joining Wiseman Ashworth Trauger, Johnson completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Ethics at Vanderbilt University in 2022. At Vanderbilt, he served alongside healthcare providers and administrators to provide ethics consultations and lessons in healthcare ethics. Before beginning his fellowship, Johnson served as an Ethics and Compliance Officer for TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville and was a member of Centennial's Medical Ethics Committee. He routinely lectures on medical ethics, bioethics and professionalism. Johnson is a longtime resident of Nashville and graduated from MLK Jr. Magnet High School in 2009. Kaitlin Parham Selected to 2023 NBF Leadership Forum Class: Kaitlin Parham was selected... Kaitlin Parham joined Wiseman Ashworth Trauger as an Associate Attorney in May 2022. Prior to her employment with Wiseman Ashworth Trauger, Kaitlin was a Senior Associate General Counsel at the Tennessee Department of Health where she advised various health licensing boards and represented the Department in health licensure litigation. Kaitlin also previously served as an Assistant General Counsel with the Tennessee Department of Children's Services. Kaitlin graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2016, where she was a member of the Animal Law Moot Court team and competed at Harvard Law School. She served as a Student Attorney in the College of Law's Immigration Clinic and was an acting Assistant District Attorney under the supervision of a licensed ADA in the Child Abuse Unit, both pursuant to TSCR 7. Prior to law school, Kaitlin attended Furman University, where she served as President of the Student Alumni Council. Kaitlin is a ninth-generation Tennessean and lives in the Green Hills neighborhood of Nashville. Her mother is a registered nurse and she has always been drawn to the healthcare industry. Kaitlin is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law co-teaching Legislation and Regulation to students in the College of Law's Masters of Legal Studies degree program. She is active in the community as a member of the Nashville Symphony's Crescendo Club and The Junior League of Nashville. In her spare time, Kaitlin enjoys reading, traveling, and going to new restaurants in Nashville.

Michele also has significant experience representing healthcare providers in contested case hearings before the Tennessee Department of Health Professional Boards and as their advocate in policy and rulemaking matters. Thomas A. Wiseman III
