Alan is a qualified Chartered Accountant of 40 years standing. He has extensive experience in a number of financial and managerial roles ranging from accounting practice through the manufacturing industry to the legal profession.
More recently he has been active in the Chambers environment providing finance and administrative support as well as working with and providing advice to Heads of Chambers and management committees.
Alan has a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Nottingham University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Clare is responsible for the overall management of Cornerstone Barristers, ensuring that Chambers works as efficiently and effectively as possible. She works closely with the clerks and staffing team to continue to build Chambers' reputation for excellence throughout its service.
Clare joined Cornerstone Barristers in 2019. She has over 18 years of senior management experience within the legal sector. Clare has an Executive MBA from Cranfield University. She is the Co-Chair of the Legal Practice Management Association (LPMA).
Daniel joined Chambers in June 2018, following sixteen years at one of the oldest and largest sets at the Bar.
He is well known for his approachable, enthusiastic and ‘can do' attitude with clients which reflects the professional, friendly service he provides. He supports Elliot with the overall strategic management, promotion, and development of members' practices, ensuring a first-rate service.
With over two decades of extensive experience in managing both clerks and barristers he is best placed to lead his own team within Chambers. He is assisted by Chelsea Thomas and James Turvey. Daniel's principal tasks include the development and administration of members' practices, business development & high level fee negotiations.

Daryl joined Cornerstone Barristers in January 2022. He supports Elliot with the overall strategic management, promotion, and development of members' practices, ensuring a first-rate service. He is responsible for the day-to-day practice management of Chambers' members, which includes all levels of fee negotiation, diary management, and work allocation. He is assisted by George.
Daryl began his career in 2003 and has worked at Blackstone Chambers, Landmark Chambers, and Quadrant Chambers.
Daryl Hughes is increasingly confident and a calming presence.

Gerard Forlin QC has been involved for over a year in providing ongoing advice to one of the major parties in the Alton Towers Smiler Ride incident that occured in June 2015.
Gerard is Vice Chair of the Health & Safety Lawyers Association and has been recognised in six different areas of the leading legal directories. He has also worked in over 55 countries.

James joined Cornerstone Barristers in April 2022 after having three years' clerking experience at a leading commercial set. James assists all members of Chambers but primarily works with Daniel and Chelsea assisting their team of barristers.
Outside of work, James has a keen interest in sports, including golf and football. He also supports West Ham and often goes to watch them play on weekends
Molly joined Cornerstone Barristers in May 2023. She assists all members of Chambers but primarily works with Daryl and George assisting their team of barristers.
Molly has completed the IBC Introduction to Business and Management Course and was nominated for Junior Clerk of the Year at the Legal 500 Awards 2022.

Nina joined Cornerstone Barristers in October 2021 as a Finance and Administration Assistant. Her main responsibilities include processing payments and helping to organise the pupillage and mini-pupillage programmes.
She holds a BA in Human, Social, and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and has a keen interest in the legal sector, having recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Law at BPP University.
In her spare time, she enjoys going to gigs, keeping on top of all of the latest Netflix shows, and avoiding exercise at all costs.

Patricia joined Cornerstone Barristers in May 2022 as the Administration Manager.
Her administration experience has been attained working for eleven years in investment banking, eighteen years in legal and compliance/sales and trading, and almost four years as a business manager in the charity sector.
Patricia works closely with the CEO and is responsible for the operational functions of Chambers including finance, administration, facilities, and regulatory compliance.

William Murphy joined Cornerstone Barristers in February 2023 as the Marketing and Communications Manager.
William has over a decade's worth of experience working in communications for a number of organisations in the legal, political and non-profit sectors.
He will be working closely with the Barristers and Staff team to promote the specialist public law expertise Cornerstone has to offer clients.
