Alan is a Partner of Europa Generation, a member of the Europa Generation investment committee and has 38 years real estate industry experience.
Alan Artus is also one of the founders of Generation Estates . Alan has extensive experience of development in London and the South East having held senior positions at a number of leading development companies prior to founding Generation Estates in January 2004. Between 2010 and 2015, Alan worked in a joint venture with The Carlyle Group developing and operating a £500M portfolio of high quality purpose built student accommodation assets throughout central London (Pure Student Living). Prior to that during the period 2005-2012, Alan worked on three separate joint ventures with The Blackstone Group that developed and operated 2,521 student accommodation beds in London originally known as Nido Student Living and which included a 33 storey tower in Spitalfields.
Prior to establishing Generation Estates, Alan was Development Director at City & West End Developments, a specialist office developer that was acquired by Security Capital Europe Realty in 1998 and which developed and acquired investment assets approaching £500m. Whilst at CWE, responsibilities included the Central London development programme, arranging senior debt with a variety of European banks and concluding most of the transactions undertaken by the company between 1998 and 2001. Prior to joining City & West End Developments in 1997, Alan was a director of London & Edinburgh Trust, a leading development company of the period created by the Beckwith brothers that was subsequently acquired by SPP.
Gareth Davies is a Partner of Europa Generation, a member of the Europa Generation investment committee and has 35 years real estate industry experience
He is also a founder of Generation Estates. Gareth has extensive experience of project origination, acquisition, financing, development, marketing, leasing and sales in Central London and UK markets. Between 2010 and 2015, Gareth worked in a joint venture with the Carlyle Group creating and operating a £500M portfolio of high quality purpose built student accommodation assets throughout Central London (Pure Student Living). From 2004 until 2012 Gareth established three separate joint ventures with The Blackstone Group that developed and operated 2,521 student accommodation beds in London then known as Nido Student Living and which included a 846 bed facility near Kings Cross Station.
Prior to establishing Generation Estates, Gareth was a Director of The Osborne Group where he managed a series of development projects in Central London including mixed use developments in Fulham and Spitalfields and office projects in the City of London. Gareth started his career at St Quintin Chartered Surveyors in the City of London where he became an associate partner and subsequently joined Grimley JR Eve as a partner. Gareth has an honours degree in Land Management from University of Reading and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
Nick is a Partner of Europa Generation with over 15 years' experience in real estate and banking and is currently responsible for acquisitions for the Europa Generation Student Fund.
Since 2010 Nick has purely focused on the purpose built student accommodation sector. Prior to Europa Generation Nick co-founded Harrington Land, a property company focused on land promotion and development specifically in the PBSA sector. Nick therefore has extensive experience in project origination, acquisition, financing and development of UK student accommodation.
Prior to Harrington Land, Nick worked for seven years in the European real estate finance business. He spent five years in the Commercial Real Estate Finance Group of Deutsche Bank focusing on securitised and syndicated lending. Nick spent a further two years focusing on European loan restructuring within the CMBS market and co-founded a European Special Servicer.
Before joining Deutsche Bank Nick started his career at DTZ in London, focusing on European real estate markets including real estate funds, corporate finance and strategy.
Tim is a Partner at Europa Generation, a member of the Europa Generation investment committee and has 25 years of experience in real estate. Tim is also a Partner at Europa Capital.
Tim has extensive experience in fund management as well as in transactions, development financing and asset management throughout the UK in all market sectors. In 2014 and 2015, Tim advised an international investor on the potential acquisition of over 27,000 PBSA beds in the UK. Tim was previously the Chief Investment Officer of Hermes Real Estate responsible for a £6 billion real estate portfolio. Whilst at Hermes Real Estate, Tim was also a director of two operating businesses, MEPC and Argent, and a member of the Brockton Capital Fund I investment committee.
Prior to that, he spent seven years at Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was responsible for Barclays Life Assurance Company and subsequently ADIA's UK real estate portfolios. Prior to Aberdeen Asset Management, Tim worked at Knight Frank for five years. Tim has a BSc in Property Valuation and Finance from City University and is a member of the Investment Property Forum and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
