Emma has 20 years' dispute resolution experience, during which time she has acted for individuals and small businesses as well as large national and multi-national companies to include in the defence of complex and high value professional negligence claims. Before joining Indemnity Legal, Emma advised insurance companies on the resolution of insurance claims and she now uses that experience to help policyholders who find themselves in dispute with their insurers.
Indemnity Legal was founded in February 2020 by James Morris. James is an experienced insurance lawyer specialising in the resolution of disputed complex insurance claims (and with particular expertise in financial lines matters).
Prior to founding Indemnity Legal, James was a senior lawyer at a Tier 1 policyholder litigation firm in the City of London. Before that, James was an in-house lawyer at JLT Specialty (now Marsh JLT), a Major Loss Adjuster at global US insurer AIG, and an "insurer's lawyer" at RPC. James is therefore one of only a handful of senior insurance lawyers in the market to have worked on/advised every side of the insurance market at some stage in their career - he brings this depth of experience and market knowledge to Indemnity Legal and its clients to find pragmatic solutions to complex insurance problems as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.
John Curran joined Indemnity Legal in August 2021. John's practice spans high-value/complex financial lines, D&O, transactional and tax, business interruption, and energy disputes.
John joins Indemnity Legal after five years at Fenchurch Law, six years at DLA Piper, and 20 years at Clifford Chance. Though John now advises commercial policyholders exclusively on the resolution of high-value/complex insurance disputes, he has acted in the past for global insurers, brokers, and commercial/institutional policyholders in disputes arising in the London market and internationally.
John is qualified in both England & Wales and Hong Kong and is a solicitor advocate.
Kristy has specialised in insurance litigation since qualifying as a solicitor in 1995, working with and for Insurers, gaining extensive experience in professional negligence disputes as well as insurance policy coverage, response and interpretation and other commercial litigation. She is also familiar with FOS procedures and claims, ADR and adjudication processes and conduct. Kristy has acted for construction professionals in defending claims against them, likewise for insurance brokers, stockbrokers, accountants, construction businesses and other commercial organisations. She also has regulatory experience, having acted for directors of insurance entities in FCA enquiries as well as advising clients on aspects of FSMA. Kristy's broad experience extends to acting in many complex litigious disputes on both sides of the claimant/defendant fence from the perspectives of both private practice and in-house, within one of the UK's largest professional indemnity insurance agencies. Kristy strongly believes that legitimate claims upon insurers deserve to be treated fairly.

Rachel joined Indemnity Legal as an Associate in 2021 having worked in the insurance litigation sector since 2014. During this time, she has advised leading insurers on a broad range of coverage issues, and has worked with insurers, loss adjusters, insolvency practitioners, brokers, and policyholders to resolve insurance-backed, FSCS-funded, and Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Act claims - both in and out of Court. Rachel has a wealth of experience in claims involving property damage, construction-related disputes, and claims against professionals. She now advises individuals and businesses on the most effective ways to resolve disputes with their insurers and ensure that their legitimate claims are paid.

Roseanne Taylor co-founded Indemnity Legal and is the firm's Chief Financial Officer. Roseanne is a Chartered Accountant with 24 years' experience working in businesses of all sizes, including FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, a forensic accounting firm and younger, high growth challenger businesses. Roseanne now uses her expertise to ensure that Indemnity Legal operates "best of breed" practices and in supporting our lawyers to deliver outstanding service to the firm's clients.
Rosemary has worked in insurance litigation for over 10 years in various roles on behalf of Insurers and policyholders in a wide variety of sectors and in relation to disputes ranging from small to multi-million-pound claims. Rosemary's areas of expertise include coverage disputes and professional negligence claims. Her experience ranges from civil litigation including cross-border litigation and class actions, to ADR and referrals to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Rosemary has acted for insurers, IFAs, brokers, large financial institutions, liquidators, directors and officers, and asset managers as well as a wide range of other commercial and consumer policyholders.
Rosemary understands the commercial reality facing policyholders when valid insurance claims are declined and uses her experience to find creative, efficient, and commercial solutions to cut through insurance disputes as effectively and painlessly as possible when valid claims are challenged. Rosemary is particularly involved in business interruption claims and insurance disputes involving directors and officers.
Rosemary's personal interests include Latin dancing, jazz music and yoga. Rosemary also participates in schemes mentoring law students which is something that she feels very passionate about.
With a background in investment management, Steve has 21 years' experience of advising small and medium sized businesses. Steve ran the flagship Pan European Smaller Companies product at Henderson Global Investors, steering it to a number one ranking. He has set up, and helped run, entities in both fund management and other professional service industries, serving either in an Executive Director or Partner capacity. Steve uses his expertise in an executive role at Indemnity Legal to ensure that our people, operations, governance and compliance functions are all of the highest calibre.
