Carolyn McKelvie

Carolyn is a qualified Registered General Nurse and Midwife, and has worked in the field of healthcare all her working career. Carolyn is a qualified Prince2 Practitioner in Project Management and also has an ABPI qualification which she gained whilst working within the pharmaceutical industry. Carolyn has worked as a Nurse Manager within pharmaceuticals and managed a regional and national team of nurses who had non-commercial roles working for pharmaceutical companies. This involved managing the team of nurses, providing training and education, setting up clinics and compiling formularies. From this, she moved into a sales role within various pharmaceutical companies across the North of England. Showing an aptitude for promoting and gaining new clients with her exceptional interpersonal skills. This then developed into a passion for improving quality and efficiencies within the healthcare industry, and she joined a company performing health checks and analysing quality and efficiency within the secondary care environment. Carolyn has also been a CQC registered manager of a nurse agency before moving to Luto as a Project Manager in 2020.

Prof. Maria Lonsdale

Maria is a Professor of Information and Communication Design at the University of Leeds, UK. She has been a design practitioner and academic for over 20 years and holds the title of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy | SFHEA. Her specialist design areas include Information Design, Visual Communication Design and Typographic Design. She also specialises in User-Centred Research Methods for Design that involve users in all stages of the design and research process (including co-design, usability testing and performance testing), as well as measurement techniques such as eye-tracking alongside qualitative data collection. Within Information Design, Maria has great interest in the use of visualisation as an effective means to make information more accessible and inclusive of all levels of literacy, ages, genders, languages and cultural backgrounds. Maria's work is of international impact. She is Associate Editor of the international design journal Visible Language, the oldest peer-reviewed design journal, first published in 1967. She is also a regular reviewer for Information Design Journal, and a book reviewer for publishers such as SAGE, Routledge (Taylor & Francis) and Bloomsbury. Maria is a Member of the International Society of Typographic Designers | MISTD [an industry-recognised mark of professional ability].

Prof. Michael Wolf

Michael is Professor of Medicine, Associate Division Chief of Research for General Internal Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. He is a cognitive/behavioural scientist and health services researcher with expertise in adult learning and cognitive factors as applied to medication use and chronic disease management. He has received numerous awards, including a Fulbright Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award to the United Kingdom. Michael has written over 110 peer-reviewed publications, and currently serves on advisory committees for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Brookings Institution, U.S. Pharmacopeia, National Institutes of Health, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. He has also provided consultation to the Institute of Medicine, World Health Organization, American College of Physicians Foundation, American Medical Association, American Pharmacists Association, and Centres for Disease Control on health literacy and medication matters. Dr. Wolf currently leads several large-scale grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

Parisa is Professor in Medicines Use Optimisation at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Sydney. She has been a researcher and educator in the field of consumer medicine information for more than 20 years. Her goals include improving the quality use of medicines by patients and consumers - through increased and appropriate disease and medicine information, and informed shared decision making. Her research has impacted policy and education in the healthcare sector, and at the Government level, and has led to a global initiative on developing medicine information strategies for implementation at national and local levels. Parisa is President of the ‘Health & Medicines Information Section' of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). She was awarded the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Pharmacy Research UK Award 2013, in recognition of a significant contribution to the field of pharmacy research. She has over 110 peer-reviewed research papers and has presented nearly 200 times at international conferences.
