Dr Ian Young is currently Chief Executive of Peterborough Keys Academies Trust. Originally from Northern Ireland, Ian initially studied for a PhD in the physics of atomic collisions, before embarking in a career in teaching. That career led to teaching and school leadership posts at schools in England, Scotland and Egypt. Most recently, Ian led the work of 14 independent schools as Head of Independent Schools for United Learning. United Learning is unusual in being a very large multi academy trust that also runs independent schools. Ian is now seeking to employ that experience as he influences educational opportunities and outcomes in the 5 schools within PKAT.

Howard Nelson

Howard Nelson holds the role of Chief Finance and Operating Officer for the Trust, taking a lead on many aspects of our operations outside of the classroom. Howard joins us after his role as COO for DNEAT and CEO for DoNESC; giving him a wealth of experience in all areas of Trust Leadership, Operations and Finance. Howard has extensive experience within the Education Sector, and is a key member of our Executive Team.

Jon Hebblethwaite

Jon Hebblethwaite is the Headteacher at Jack Hunt School. After his initial degree in Politics from Swansea University, he began teaching in 1996 and soon completed his PGCE in Secondary History in Bristol (his home city). His first job was in Luton, and he has taught in a variety of school in London, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. He became a senior leader in 2007 and has previously been a Head at a school in South-West Herts and also in Oxford. He is passionate about how as educators we can improve the life chances of young people and is thrilled to be the new Head at Jack Hunt School. He is looking forward to collaboration with everyone across PKAT and with other school in Peterborough.

Jude Macdonald

Jude Macdonald is an experienced school leader with specialisms in strategic school improvement, HR and SEND provision. She joins the PKAT Executive team as the new Director of SEND. Putting the needs of students first is her key priority and this drives every decision that she makes. Every student matters, irrespective of background or educational need and she takes pride in driving positive outcomes and successes. Jude thrives on new challenges and taking calculated risks. She has made over 1300 skydives and regularly fly in the Twinwoods Adventure wind tunnel.

martin Fry

Martin Fry BA (Hons) + QTS , NPQH, is the Primary Lead for the Trust, as well as taking on the role of Headteacher of Ravensthorpe Primary School. Martin became the Headteacher of John Clare Primary School in Peterborough in 2007 having previously taught in a variety of primary schools in London and Peterborough. He was also part of the start up team for the British School of Chicago in 2001. Martin was appointed Headteacher at Ravensthorpe Primary in 2011 and led the school out of Special Measures in 2012 with the school judged ‘good' in all areas in its last Ofsted inspection (Jan 2016). Inspectors stated during this inspection that 'The headteacher is providing outstanding leadership in transforming the school'.
