Bolton CVS began in 1990. Two previous attempts to create a CVS in Bolton were unsuccessful. June Corner was Chair of the steering group that established CVS as we know it today and became the first Chair of Bolton CVS. Bolton Council awarded a grant of £50,000 for a period of three years, a staggering accomplishment at the time. This funded a General Secretary (now known as the Chief Officer), a Development Worker and an Administration Worker... We work alongside Bolton's VCSE sector; supporting them to do what they exist to do, as well as they possibly can
