ALPHA LAB 40 - Key Persons
Andrew is a senior developer at Alpha Lab 40. He has a decade of experience solving technical problems, particularly data, and analytics, for banks, government, financial research, and prop trading firms.
Julius is Head of Trading at Alpha Lab 40. Prior to Alpha Lab 40 he was a quant trader at Quant Capital KG, a European ETF Market Maker, prior to that he was a quant developer at Aquantum AG, a commodities hedge fund. Julius holds an MsC in Statistical Physics from RWTH Aachen University, where he graduated in 2013. He also holds a PhD in Computer Science awarded from the University of Dusseldorf.
Luca is a full stack developer at Alpha Lab 40. Prior to joining Alpha Lab 40 Luca spent 10 years working in a range of software engineering roles, with a particular focus on fintech, retail trading and defi.

Mike is Alpha Lab 40's Head of Business Development. He has held roles at GSR, BNP Paribas as well as founding and running his own successful crypto hedge fund, Appspring Systems. Mike has also been an advisor to many start-up token projects, helping with token design and legal structuring. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from University of Missouri-Columbia, graduated in 2015.
Niall is Head of Technology at Alpha Lab 40, responsible for the firm's strategic technical direction, Niall has a wealth of experience in financial services technology, gained from firms such as RBS, BlueCrest and BNP Paribas Niall graduated from Dublin City University in 2003 with a first-class honours degree in software engineering.
Scott leads Alpha Lab 40's options business, he brings over a decade of institutional sales and trading experience from his time at Morgan Stanley where he held multiple roles from sales trader to managing risk as an equity derivatives flow trader, with a focus on European indices. He holds a MSc in Financial Economics from University of Glasgow and a BA in Economics from University of Stirling, graduated in 2010.
Sebastian leads Alpha Lab 40's market neutral capabilities. Prior to Alpha Lab 40 he was a senior risk manager at Pictet Asset Management and has a broad experience in quantitative research and portfolio management gained from firms such as Fundo, SGFC, Oddo and SocGen. He graduated with a master's degree from ISG Paris business school in 2008.
Stuart is Founder and CEO of Alpha Lab 40. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer of Oceanwood Capital Management, Europe's longest running event driven hedge fund, which spun out of Tudor Capital Management in 2008. Prior to that he held a variety of roles at Bluecrest Capital Management and Morgan Stanley. He is ACCA qualified and graduated with a master's in Economics from the University of Glasgow in 2010.
