I don't know if anything I have to say is worth hearing, but I have to say it anyway. I'm too old not to. First of all, one thing that really bothers me is that we focus on our cultural problems and argue over how to solve them, but we hardly ever attempt to find those problems' initial causes. For example, we talk about how everyone should or shouldn't have access to health insurance, then we argue about pharmaceutical prices, then we argue about the availability of health care. But what about the root of that problem? What in the world is making so many people sick? More than likely, it's our food. If we put one tenth of the energy, spent fighting over surface issues, into actually fixing what truly mattered, well, a bunch of people wouldn't make nearly as much money. This is the type of stuff bouncing around inside my head.
