Throughout his 34-year career in construction, Chris has worked tirelessly to change the public's view of a poorly-perceived roofing industry, actively promoting good practice wherever possible.
He is the author of Dragons for Breakfast book: "…from Winning at Bodybuilding to Winning at Business…" and appeared on the BBC TV programme that inspired it, Dragons' Den.
Chris was instrumental in creating a roof training centre that gained both Construction Skills and NVQ status. He wrote the Solar NVQ QCF298 qualification and also pioneered a rehabilitation course with Her Majesty's Prison Service.
In 2018, Chris received the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Roofing Industry' award. In recognition of his contribution to, and positive impact on, the industry, he was invited to join and served on the Government's Green Construction Board, representing the interests of small- to medium-sized construction enterprises.
Chris now devotes much of his time to helping others in the roofing industry as a business mentor, passing on his experience and insight to help others move their business forward,
Born and raised in Cheshire, Mark has lived his entire life to date in this part of the north west of England, where he was a keen footballer until an injury in his early 20s curtailed his involvement in the sport.
Following a couple of uninspiring jobs, his career took a different direction within the roofing industry when he joined a local roofing merchants as Assistant Branch Manager.
Promotion to Branch Manager came quickly and he has now spent almost a successful decade within this sector of the industry.
A passion for natural slate developed early on in Mark's roofing career and this was recognised in 2015 when Mark was promoted to Business Development Manager for Natural Slate, responsible for multiple locations within much of the north of England,
Mark now works for Lagan Building Solutions (LBS) Ltd where he heads up GB sales performance, strategy and development.
Ria's background in roofing has led her to her current role as Project Manager for a roofing company in the north west of England, where she heads up the domestic division.
She began an apprenticeship in roofing at the age of 21, progressing to having her own van and labourer for her employers.
Her next step was to working in a roofing merchants to gain knowledge and experience in products and pricing, before moving on to a commercial roofing company as a project manager. Her current job sees her in domestic roofing where she surveys and manages all private works.
Qualified in health and safety, IPAF and SMSTS, she describes herself as ‘having a passion for improving the way people view roofing contractors and making people aware of good standard of work'. She says that job satisfaction is key and likes to provide "old-fashioned, excellent client service", as a customer recently said of her.

Steve has been involved in the timber/roofing industry in the UK for over 40 years.
His path from the bench/site through management to directorships has been fun, hard work, and above all, rewarding.
He has worked in all areas of the industry that have taken him to the four corners of the UK and beyond.
Steve wants to achieve even more before bowing out of the industry, aiming to bring change for the better to an industry that he loves.
A highly-skilled and experienced heritage roofer, Stewart spent more than 20 years in this sector before moving into other areas of roofing.
Well respected in the UK roofing industry, he is also a competitions' judge, writer for roofing publications, roofing tutor, roofing consultant and adviser to manufacturers and contractors.
Stewart is now focusing on raising the profile of roofing within the UK through many initiatives and projects with Master Roofers UK and its extensive community of roofers from all backgrounds and disciplines.
