Barbados Fishers is a consortium of the best fishers in Barbados. We deliver high quality fish, harvested using environmental sound techniques... Barbados Fishers also use circle hooks; therefore, our catch is primarily adult fish. Also, this hook reduces damage to other marine life and birds, some of whom are naturally attracted by the bait. We also pay strict attention to the fishing zones, and we operate and fully respect Marine Protected Areas... Any fisherman will tell you that fishing is demanding; most of them will also emphasise that it takes courage, patience and passion. It is work that our members revere, and we take an enormous measure of pride in the quality of our catches. We feed communities, and that is one of the noblest of professions. At the same time, we believe that being on the frontline means that we are also caretakers. That caretaker's responsibility is why we constantly take the industry's sustainability into our decisions.
