The public transport system is the backbone of any city. It plays a pivotal role in establishing the foundations of the social and economic development of urban spaces. Unfortunately, in the city of Karachi, the quality of the public transport has only declined over years. The people are forced to travel in a system that is in extremely poor condition. The buses are in bad shape and the waiting time is too long. Currently, even less than 3000 thousand buses are operating to serve a population of much over 1.6 million. This makes the city of Karachi have one of the worst buses to population ratios in the world.
