Beverly Jones Williams

Beverly Jones Williams, M.S. retired from North Carolina State University as the Director of Training and Education in the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED). She served as the campus affiliate director for the NC State National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) team and oversaw the Equal Opportunity Institute, both of which are award-winning diversity education programs. She also established the Foundations of Cultural Competence and Inclusivity certificate program for NC State University faculty. Additionally, she developed and co-instructed Foundations of Cultural Competence and Leadership and Coalition Building in Diverse Communities undergraduate academic classes. Ms. Williams has presented programs on diversity for over 35 years. The NC Museum of Natural Sciences selected her to be a cultural conversation facilitator for the Race: Are We So Different exhibit where she facilitated dialogues on race for community participants. Beverly serves as a national facilitator and campus consultant for NCBI. She supports NCBI campus teams at the University of Iowa, Medical College of Wisconsin, Salem State University, and Appalachian State University, and the NCBI chapter at UNC Hospitals. She serves as associate director of the NCBI Carolina Coalition and has led NCBI leadership training for several college and community organizations. During her 33 year tenure at NC State, she served in a variety of roles in University Housing and in Training and Organizational Development in Human Resources. Ms. Williams has spent many years training students, faculty, and staff on a variety of topics in addition to diversity, including leadership, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution and career exploration. She developed and presented unconscious bias training in partnership with the campus police department. She is a qualified Cultural intelligence (CQ) administrator and Intercultural Development Inventory administrator. She is also a certified mediator and conducts meditation for the North Carolina Office of Human Resources. She received a B.A. in Speech Communication and M.S. in College Student Personnel Services from Miami University in Ohio.

Idella Glenn

Idella Glenn, Ph. D., is a seasoned professional committed to inclusive excellence, student success and creating welcoming campus environments for all constituents. Glenn is a collaborative leader with over 30 years of higher education experience - the last 25 years focused on leading diversity and inclusion initiatives. Dr. Glenn joined the University of Southern Maine as Associate Vice President for Equity, Inclusion, and Community Impact in September 2020. Idella served for three years as Special Advisor on Inclusivity and Diversity at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. Before coming to Hollins, she served as Virginia Commonwealth University's (VCU) Director for Diversity Education and Retention Initiatives within the Division of Inclusive Excellence. Prior to VCU, Idella spent 18 years at Furman University serving as Asst. VP for Student Development, Asst. Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, and Director of Multicultural Affairs. Prior to Furman, Idella began her career in Higher Education as the Records Manager (Registrar) at Spartanburg Community College. Dr. Glenn earned a bachelor's degree in computer science/math from Furman University, and a Master's in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina. She earned a PhD. in Educational Leadership from Clemson University in 2008. Her dissertation topic: The Experiences of Chief Student Affairs Officers in Addressing Incidents of Racial Insensitivity on College and University Campuses. Idella is a member of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) Board of Directors and Co-Director of the NCBI Coalition, a group of colleges in North and South Carolina that maintain NCBI teams. She also serves as an NCBI campus support leader and currently provides support for campuses in North Carolina, Maryland, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Alaska. Glenn has earned designation as a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) through the Institute for Diversity Certification and is a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory. Idella completed training offered through the Sustained Dialogue Institute and oversaw the program at Hollins University. She is a graduate of the Riley Institute Diversity Leadership Academy, Class 2. She served on the National Advisory Council of the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity. Glenn also served as President of the South Carolina Professional Association for Access and Equity from 2002-2004 and is a graduate of Leadership Greenville (SC), class 28.

Theresa M. Pizzuto

Theresa M. Pizzuto, M.S. is a collaborative leader who brings over 30 years of experience in higher education, non-profit leadership and personal and professional coaching. In addition to her work with Chrysalis Consulting, Theresa is a senior trainer with the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) Carolina Coalition leadership team, and currently supports NCBI campus team leaders at Presbyterian College and Wofford College. She also provides professional coaching and consulting services related to social justice, conflict resolution and inclusive leadership, utilizing the lens of privilege. With degrees in biology, ecology, and ethology, as well as human psychology from University of Illinois-Urbana, Theresa first served at Clemson University as a research associate in entomology before serving as the Director of Diversity Education Programs for the Gantt Intercultural Center. She led several major diversity education teams and initiatives (Safe Zone, NCBI, and One World Project) and served as the diversity partner on the CUPD diversity ad hoc committee. She also co-created and directed the "One Clemson: Yours, Mine and Ours" program that provided all incoming freshmen and transfer students with a common first-year experience related to respect and diversity. Theresa served as a member of the Executive Team for the NCBI Clemson University affiliate for 11 years and served as the Team Leader for 4 years. She has served on the NCBI Carolina Coalition leadership team since 2007 and as a co-facilitator for the annual Train-the-Trainer since 2017. She also serves on the NCBI National campus leaders support team and Diversity Leadership Institute leadership support team. She has co-led NCBI Leadership training for the Carolina Coalition, Appalachian State, Furman University, Presbyterian College, and Charleston YWCA. She has also conducted intercultural communication training for various university and non-university classes and organizations. After retiring from CU in 2010, she co-founded It's Our Privilege!, a diversity consulting firm utilizing the lens of privilege and focused on inspiring inclusive leadership through workshops, training sessions, coaching and strategic planning. She also worked 6 years as the Director of Religious Exploration at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Clemson. She is a 2004 graduate of the Co-Active Leadership Program offered through The Co-Active Training Institute (CTI) in CA and received conflict resolution and meditation training through The Mediation Center in Asheville, NC. Theresa currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Clemson Pledge to End Racism, an interfaith initiative in the Clemson, SC area that began in February 2019 and also serves on the planning team for Let's Talk Race Clemson, a volunteer group dedicated to providing opportunities for community members to come together to discuss racism and its impact. In addition, she teaches international folk dance and line dance, and enjoys most forms of social dance. She has led play workshops, creative conflict resolution workshops, vision board sessions, and women's spirituality and creativity gatherings. She has a love for volunteer service and is the General Manager of a local, all-volunteer health food co-op, and serves as the planning committee co-chair for the annual Moondance contra dance weekend held in the upstate of SC.
