Andre Tillmanns, a trained industrial manager, began his career at the Coroplast Group more than 20 years ago with a six-year stint in the Wires & Cables sales department. Previously, he had completed an apprenticeship at the German cable factory Kabelwerke Reinshagen (today APTIV/Prysmian). He had also tried out an entirely different branch altogether and had spent five years working in the music industry. If there's one thing Andre Tillmanns likes, it's variety: his motto for his free time is that every sport should be tried at least once. His latest hobby is surfing - both indoors and out.
Tillmanns is glad to see his employees in China becoming "real Coroplasters" - employee turnover has decreased dramatically. He knows, too, that, in China, team building is incredibly important. "We do a lot together - from dragon boating to yoga, playing badminton or soccer, to celebrating the Chinese New Year festival. This brings us closer and makes our team, and the company as a whole, stronger." He himself is a Coroplast brand ambassador through and through: "A real Coroplaster is someone who stands behind our products, who's not waiting by the phone for a headhunter to call, someone who acts responsibly and, when the company needs it, stays in the office after 5:30 PM or works remotely." Incidentally, Tillmanns had his own interview for Coroplast in person with current CEO Natalie Mekelburger. For Tillmanns, the sense of family within the Coroplast Group was always a big positive. He still really enjoys his job in China, but, in the long-term, the father of two children definitely intends to return to Wuppertal. And if he does happen to win a million, then he will donate an indoor surf park to his hometown - just as promised.

At WeWire Feng Zhao lives his dream: Together with his international teams he develops machines that amaze even himself.
Feng Zhao lives his dream
Feng Zhao has worked at the Coroplast Group since 2011, actually in Taicang near Shanghai. Now, however, he has come to work in Germany for a few months, together with his wife and their three-year-old son, who attends a kindergarten in Düsseldorf. Feng Zhao doesn't just like technology - he adores it. Even as a little boy he always loved fast cars and motorcycles and they are the reason why he studied mechanical engineering and thinks his way deeper and deeper into intricate processes and details. Automation fascinates the Chinese engineer most of all; especially production lines that run completely on their own with the type of high-tech machinery you only see in Germany. At WeWire, Feng Zhao is living his dream. Together with his international teams he is developing machines that manage to amaze even him because they manufacture complex wheel arch harnesses just like people - only faster, better and with greater precision. Complex technical problems make his eyes sparkle, and when his hands begin to tingle, Feng Zhao is unstoppable.
In my fantasy I see robotic arms whenever someone makes something by hand.

Julia soon felt very much at home at Coroplast Tape: "The day before yesterday I met Marcus Söhngen, the global manager of our Technical Adhesive Tapes business unit. He came straight up to me and said: ‘Hello, you must be the girl from the radio'. Something like that only happens to you in a family-run company like the Coroplast Group." And she also finds the Chairwoman of the Board of Management both very impressive and at the same time incredibly likeable: "Here we followed Ms Mekelburger's 90th anniversary speech with great excitement. Once you have seen her and heard her speak, you immediately understand why she is the boss." And when Julia is homesick for Wuppertal, she greatly appreciates working for a company with German roots, especially as she can also have the occasional chat with some of her colleagues in German.
"Nothing is as constant as change. That is particularly true of my profession. In my view, Corozen - the name we have given to our continuous improvement process - involves questioning everything. I examine a production process and think about why we do it like that and not differently. If I'm unable to answer the question right away, I take a closer look at it. The underlying idea is a constant constructive urge to do things better than before and this feeling gives me my momentum. This is where my work begins. I am at my most creative in the mornings, roughly between ten and eleven. That's when I get the best ideas, which I immediately want to discuss with my colleagues."

Oscar Juarez has been with WeWire in Celaya since the beginning and has seen the company's rise firsthand. He is very proud to be part of the successful WeWire family. Oscar Juarez was born in Celaya in the Guanajuato region. So he and his family practically live in the country's automotive El Dorado: Here, nearly 600 international manufacturers from the automotive industry employ a total of a good 650,000 people. And WeWire ist also expanding here. After graduating from the University of Guanajuato with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Oscar Juarez was able to gain experience at several automotive companies - and didn't have to think twice when he saw the job posting from WeWire.
Oscar Juarez has now been on the job at WeWire for three years. Every day starts with a strong coffee. "It's a must in the office to start the workday full of energy: checking emails, checking the customer portal for relevant topics, planning upcoming tasks in the calendar, meetings." His main daily tasks include validating the specifications of new products - that is, making sure that the quality of individual parts is not compromised at any step in the process. "And I have to follow up on customer complaints, use troubleshooting methods to find causes and solutions to problems, and take action to prevent the problem from recurring."
"I'm a person who is committed to my work and willing to help anyone with the experience I've gained over my time here. The company as part of my family, because when you're there from the beginning like I was, it's like watching a child or your younger brother grow up." Unusual words for a man his age, but Oscar Juarez is convinced that he has grown and will continue to grow professionally along with the company. This has created a unique sense of community, as Oscar Juarez has always been able to rely on support in his day-to-day work. Colleagues and supervisors were always there to support him - whether with tips or tools. "This allowed me to develop professionally, becoming a professional who is optimally prepared for the challenges of everyday life," he says proudly.

Tabea Lorenz also lives and breathes socializing and direct interaction with people in her private life: for example, when cooking meals with others that span national and international cuisines - preferably Italian and "beyond pizza and pasta".
