Carol Anderson

Carol Anderson is a Registered Nurse and has over 30 years' experience in the NHS and has been a Chief Nurse for over 15 years, with a stint as a CCG Accountable Officer before returning to nursing which is her passion. Carol continues to regularly visit wards and practices, to ensure she maintains strong links to her colleagues in the nursing profession. Carol was Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG's Chief Nurse, and has significant experience of working at a senior level responsible for Nursing Teams, including Children's and Maternity and Continuing Healthcare, Quality, Patient Safety and Experience and is the ICB's Caldicott Guardian. Carol is committed to a collaborative approach to improve the health and wellbeing of our communities, putting local people and communities at the heart of everything we do. She is the Accountable Emergency Officer and Caldicott Guardian. Carol is Chief Nursing Officer.

Claudia Iton - CHRO

Claudia Iton joined the ICB from her HR consulting practice in talent management, leadership development, team effectiveness and equity, and diversity and inclusion. Prior to this, she had an extensive corporate career, including 26 years at Unilever in local, regional and global HR roles - acquiring deep insight into the change processes required to shift organisational cultures. In her consulting work on building inclusive cultures, Claudia has worked with NHS organisations, foodbanks, community services, and other third sector organisations. Claudia is Chief People Officer.

Dorothy Gregson

Dorothy Gregson brings experience of the civil service, policing and public health. During Covid she was first Eastern Regions' Deputy and then Acting Regional Director of Public Health. Prior to this, she was the Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough's Office of Police and Crime Commissioner and also had a stint as chair of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough's Public Service Board. Dorothy is no stranger to the NHS in Cambridgeshire having completed her medical training at Addenbrookes and been first Cambridge City, then covering South Cambridgeshire's Primary Care Trust's Director of Public Health roles. Dorothy is a Non-Executive Member and Chair of the Quality, Performance and Finance Committee.

Dr Gary Howsam

Dr Gary Howsam is our Chief Clinical Improvement Officer. Gary, with his team, leads work to align and drive transformation projects across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, making positive changes to the way health and care services are delivered for the benefit of local people. He performs this role alongside his work as a GP in Peterborough, giving him excellent insights into general practice's strengths and challenges. He has previously held the role of Vice Chair (External Affairs) at the Royal College of General Practitioners. Gary is a member of the NHS Assembly and is a non-executive director with Health Innovation East.

Dr Sarah Hughes

Dr Sarah Hughes has worked in mental health and criminal justice for 30 years. Having initially trained as a social worker, Dr Hughes undertook her professional doctorate focused on women leaders and resilience. As Chief Executive of the Centre for Mental Health, Dr Hughes works with the UK government and high-profile international organisations on mental health policy and practice. Having been the Chief Executive of CPSL Mind she knows the area of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough very well. Dr Hughes holds a number of trustee and board roles for organisations such as the Agenda Alliance, Football Association and City Mental Health Alliance. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; Salzburg Global; Zinc Academy and the Mental Health Collective. In 2019 Sarah also joined the prestigious Sciana Health Leaders Network. Dr Hughes is a Non-Executive Member, Chair of the People Board and Remuneration Committee, Freedom to Speak Up Guardian and Wellbeing Guardian.

Dr Stephen Moir

As the Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire County Council since 2022, Stephen is involved in leading one of the fastest growing places in the country, working with a range of system partners and elected members to deliver the Council's vision of creating a greener, fairer, more caring Cambridgeshire. Stephen previously worked for the Council between 2005-2011, as a corporate director. Immediately prior to re-joining Cambridgeshire, Stephen was the Executive Director of Corporate Services for the City of Edinburgh Council. A proud and committed public servant, Stephen has undertaken a range of leadership roles in Local Government, the NHS, and Policing, at local, regional, and national levels, including as Chief People Officer and the Head of the HR profession for the NHS in England. In 2022, Stephen was elected as the Deputy National Spokesperson for Leadership and Learning for the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (SOLACE).

Eilish Midlane

Before joining Royal Papworth in 2017, Eilish was the Divisional Director of Clinical Support Services at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. Prior to that, she trained and practiced as a biomedical scientist (a sub-group of healthcare scientists) for many years before moving from pathology to general hospital management in 2008. She holds a wealth of experience spanning strategy, operational leadership and delivery and hospital and clinical services reconfiguration. Eilish brings with her considerable expertise in patient safety, clinical governance and service improvement planning. Eilish is Partner Member - NHS trusts and foundation trusts.

Ged Curran

Ged Curran is a lawyer by background. He held a number of senior legal roles in London local government and spent 17 years as Chief Executive of the London Borough of Merton until stepping down in 2021. He has undertaken a range of roles on behalf of London local government, including leading work on performance improvement and working with national and regional government on the co-ordination of the response to Covid-19. He has significant experience in the development of approaches to integrated health and care, having been the lead local authority chief executive for south-west London and playing a part in the development of their Sustainability and Transformation Plan. Ged Curran is Chair of the Improvement and Reform Committee and the Commissioning and Investment Committee.

John O'Brien - Chairman

John O'Brien is the Chair of NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough (our Integrated Care Board), part of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System. He leads the Integrated Care Board which oversees the commissioning, performance, financial management and transformation of the local NHS, as part of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System. John holds a wealth of experience working in both the public and private sectors. This includes time spent at the Department of Communities and Local Government, and most recently as Chief Executive of London Councils, a role he held for 14 years until early 2022. He is also a member of the Board of the Northamptonshire Children's Trust. John is committed to improving local health and care and in ensuring that all local organisations and communities work well together to achieve our goals.

She is committed to improving integration and collaboration within the ICS, making sure that we listen to the needs of our population and reflect this in our decision making and planning. Meet Jan

An experienced healthcare leader, Jan Thomas is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough (our Integrated Care Board), part of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System. She is responsible for overseeing the commissioning, performance, financial management and transformation of the local NHS, as part of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System. Jan has over 25 years of experience working in and with the NHS. Starting her career as a nurse, she worked in acute NHS hospitals and has heldsenior roles in private sector healthcare organisations and the NHS. Jan is committed to ensuring local people receive the best possible care, putting patients and communities at the heart of commissioning decisions and tackling inequalities.

Stacie Coburn is our Chief Operating Officer, and joined the NHS 13 years ago as an administrator. She was previously Deputy Chief Operating Officer at a Trust that managed a number of health sites, and has held senior roles in performance and transformation across different NHS organisations. Stacie has worked in a range of NHS roles, from operational delivery to national policy, to build a strong understanding of how the health service works as a whole. Stacie's big passion is operational delivery and person-centred service improvement, to make sure that we do a little better every day for local communities as well as our staff.
