Laurel has worked as an ARDMS registered sonographer for over 25 years. She has worked in the Durango ultrasound community for most of those years. Laurel received her Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from Washburn University, Associates of Radiology from Northern New Mexico Community College and her Ultrasound Certificate from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Laurel felt compelled to start an independent practice after numerous patients struggled or postponed medical ultrasounds due to cost. Many in our community have high deductible health insurance, expensive co-pays, or no health insurance. This prompted Laurel to believe there was a cost effective alternative to the high cost of health care in the Four Corners area. Durango Ultrasound is committed to benefiting the health of the Four Corners community by providing compassionate care with high standards at an affordable cost. We follow ACR guidelines. Ultrasound exams are performed on a Philips iU22 for premium imaging. The same machine used at area hospitals.
