Ehkiot is derived from "Aircon Boys" a term that was inspired by a conversation amongst 3 engineers on what was holding them back to develop solutions for the betterment of the society, academia and industry at large. The engineers' solution to the problem was that the office Air Conditioning systems was the main reason, amongst others, that was creating this sense of complacency and comfort and not creating a competitive and innovative environment for the engineers to explore their full potential in addressing issues facing the society, academia and business industry at large. Founded in 2018, Ehkiot's princinples, values and purpose are underpinned by the believe that "it starts with us and we are EhK iot (A knot) above the rest.
