He has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, University of Florence.
He has a PhD in Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring at the University of Basilicata, Italy. He obtained a degree in computer science at the University of Florence, Italy.
He has been working at the Earth and Space Science Informatics Laboratory (ESSI-Lab) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) since 2007. His main research interests are semantic discovery, and environmental models interoperability. He is responsible of the GEO Discovery and Access Broker operational environment.

He joined the Division of Florence of the Institute of Atmospheric Pollution Research in 2014.
His main research interest is the dynamic at the air-ground interface, particularly focused on different type of surfaces (soil, rock, snow, etc.).
He is involved in several research projects in the field of atmospheric pollution in urban and remote regions, and cold regions (Arctic, Antarctica and Alps) as well. Furthermore, the main topic is the relationship between processes occurring at the air-ground interface and the optical behavior of the surface.
