Dr. Kuo received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2005. He has been practicing in central Virginia since graduation.

Dr. Kuo graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1999. During the final year of optometry school, he completed an externship at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham with an emphasis on glaucoma and diabetic eye care. Dr. Kuo also received experience in nursing home/geriatric eye care through his externship with Perry Eye & Vision in Sumiton, Alabama. While in Birmingham, Dr. Kuo graduated cum laude and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Besides optometry, Dr. Kuo has a passion for music and is an avid guitarist with interested spanning from bluegrass all the way to J.S. Bach. Through his music he has provided community service to both the Fischer House and James River Association.
