Agnieszka Repo

Agnieszka Repo, BUIBRI Project Manager, has multifaceted responsibilities at the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Eastern Finland including research and teaching. She is a doctoral student in social work. Her research interest lies in the field of international social work, children rights and international adoption.

Dr Echo Yeung

Dr Echo Yeung practised as a social worker in Liverpool for about 10 years before she took up a teaching position. She is a senior lecturer of the University of Hertfordshire and teaches in the Bsc and Msc social work programmes. She is also the course leader of Practice Education in Social Work. Echo's research interests lie in the field of health and social care of minority ethnic communities. Her specialist areas include the experiences of health and social care of Chinese people in the UK with mental health issues and physical disabilities. She also conducted a number of studies to explore different ways to involve service users and carers from minority ethnic communities in the training of social work students. Other research interests include looking at the role of practice educators in practice learning and working with interpreters in health and social care settings.

Dr. Jie Lei

Dr. Wei Lu

Job Titles:

Dr. Wei Lu is the Associate Research Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, SYSU. She has been a supervisor and program evaluator in social work in several organisations since 2013. Her research interests include social welfare policy, child protection, adolescent services, and social work education in comparative studies.

Fang Zhao - Chairman

Professor Fang Zhao is the chair professor and the director of Department of Social Work at FDU.She focuses on family relationship,child protection, hospice care and drug prevention. With funding from government organizations, she has developed many evidence-based programs for local Chinese families and for children with blood disease.She was awarded the Shanghai Excellent Mentor for Summer Social Practice.She is the deputy director of the Family Social Work Committee of the China Social Work Education Association.

Honglin Chen

Professor Honglin Chen is the vice chair at Department of Social Work at FDU.She has achieved mater's degree in social work and a PhD in Social Welfare from Department of Social Work and Social Administration, The University of Hong Kong.She has studied widely on active aging, social capital and mental health.She works closely with community stakeholders to develop, implement and test various clinical and policy interventions to enhance the well-being of seniors. She is also the deputy director of the Committee of Senior Social Work of the Chinese Social Work Education Association.

Jane Du

Jane Du is an associate professor at the School of Social Development at NNU and the chairman of Tongren Social Work Office at Nanjing Xuanwu District. She has been working for women, especially single mothers and women suffering from violence, and children protection for many years. She is a member of the children's service expert group of the Nanjing Municipal Government Working Committee on Women and Children and received the "Outstanding Contribution Award" from the International Labour Organization and the All-China Women's Federation in 2013.

Juha Hämäläinen

Juha Hämäläinen, BUIBRI Project Director, is a professor of social work at the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Eastern Finland. Professor Hämäläinen has worked in a number of national and international projects aiming at development of social work as profession through research and education. His expertise on the substance of social work education focuses particularly in theory of social work, history of ideas of social work, the concept of social pedagogy, and issues of child welfare.

Minchun Ryhänen

Minchun Ryhänen, Coordinator of International Relations, works at the Development Services of the University of Eastern Finland. She is in charge of all Erasmus+ projects' application process at the university level. She also works as the coordinator in several Erasmus+ projects in the university and has long work experience in the international affairs, especially in Erasmus programme and the international cooperation with Chinese universities.

Steven M Shardlow

Professor Steven M Shardlow PhD, an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences (UK), is Emeritus Professor of Social Work at Keele University and Adjunct Tutor at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), previously he held academic positions at the Universities of Salford (Professor) and Sheffield. He took his undergraduate and masters degrees at Oxford and in 2010 was awarded an honorary doctorate [Doc. Soc. Sci (h.c)] from the University of Kuopio, Finland. Professor Shardlow is a registered with HCPC as a social worker (England). He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social Work (www.sagepub.co.uk/jsw) and has published 16 books and over 70 articles and book chapters. His current research is focussed upon: professional practice in social work, applied professional ethics, the human services workforce and comparative research in social policy.

She has background in sociology and her research interests lie in tackling the health and wellbeing inequities through structural social

Timo Toikko

Timo Toikko is a professor of social work at the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Eastern Finland. He gained his doctorate degree in social sciences from the University of Tampere in 2001. Professor Toikko has later authored books on the history of Finnish Social Work, the methodology of research oriented development, and the current development directions of social care services.

Xiaoshan Huang

Xiaoshan Huang is an associate professor at the School of Social Development at NNU and a master's tutor. She is a Master of Social Work at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Master of History, Doctor of Philosophy in Education. She is a visiting scholar at the University of Houston (USA), an expert consultant at Nanjing Public Welfare Venture Capital Association, and a lecturer at China Philanthropy Research Institute. She has published dozens of essays in recent years, and has undertaken major projects of the Ministry of Education and EU projects, and has more than ten provincial and ministerial projects. Each year, she conducts several training programs for enterprises, civil administration bureau, communist youth league committee, and women's federations.
