He co-founded Fintech Belgium and was president for the first three years of this not-for-profit organisation representing the fintech sector and liaising with governments and regulators on financial innovation. He represented Fintechs in the Finance Minister's High Level Expert Group.
Xavier has 10 years of Fixed Income Structured experience at Merrill Lynch in London, advising and funding banks across Europe, issuing billions of structured bonds in the capital markets and taking billions of principal positions. He assumed responsibility for the financing of two UK mortgage lending companies acquired by his team.
Xavier co-founded and ran as CEO a digital challenger bank backed by private equity fund AnaCap, combining sophisticated asset and liability strategies with B2C fintech and wealthtech innovations. The bank was regulated by the ECB and the National Bank of Belgium.
Most recently, Xavier was Head of Strategic Innovation, Digitalisation and Marketing at Degroof Petercam where he was responsible for transformation of the Degroof Petercam Group with a major focus on re-engineering the private bank ( 35bln AuM) and the asset management business ( 30bln AuM).
