Dr. Chris Carmichael

Kristin has always had a love for animals. She has always been one to bring home an animal in need of help. She started as a kennel assistant when she was eighteen years old and learned as much as she could on-site. In 2004, she moved from New York to Florida and became a veterinary assistant. In late April of 2021, she moved to Texas with her daughter Renee, three dogs Blue, Bella, and Seymore, and turtle named Kevin. In her spare time she enjoys drawing and painting. Dr. Chris Carmichael with his wife, Dr. Lauren Carmichael, and their two children Avery and Hudson. Dr. Chris Carmichael was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University in 2003. He then attended Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009. Following veterinary school, he completed a rotating internship in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery at Purdue University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. After completing his internship, he moved to Fort Worth and worked as an overnight emergency veterinarian until establishing Highland Pointe Animal Hospital in March of 2016. Dr. Carmichael has a special interest in surgery, wound care, and emergency medicine. When not at the hospital, he loves anything to do with the outdoors, restoring his 1966 Mustang, cooking (and eating, of course), biking, and relaxing with his wife Dr. Lauren Carmichael, their daughter Avery, their son Hudson, and their kitty Jackson.

Dr. Lauren Carmichael

Dr. Lauren Carmichael is the daughter of a Naval commander. She was born in Rota, Spain and from there has lived in Florida, Hawaii, Virginia, California, and Kansas! She considers Kansas City, Kansas "home", since she lived there the longest. Dr. Lauren Carmichael started her undergraduate career at Baylor University and later transferred to Kansas State University where she completed her undergraduate degree in just three years and was then accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery at Purdue University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. After completing her internship, she moved to Fort Worth and worked as an emergency veterinarian until establishing Highland Pointe Animal Hospital with her husband Dr. Chris Carmichael in March of 2016. Dr. Lauren Carmichael has a special interest in cardiology, cats, and has experience working with exotics. When not at the hospital, she enjoys running and spending time with her husband Dr. Chris Carmichael, their daughter Avery, their son Hudson, and their kitty Jackson.

Dr. Victoria Stone

Dr. Stone was born in Biloxi, Mississippi and moved somewhere new every two to three years because her mother was an Air Force flight medic. Naturally, she often refers to herself as a military brat. Her family ultimately settled in Texas during her college years, and she graduated from Texas Woman's University in 2016. Dr. Stone has been part of the Highland Pointe Animal Hospital family since 2016 when she worked with us as a client services representative and later veterinary assistant prior to being accepted into Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with her doctorate in May of 2022. Dr. Stone has often been called a crazy cat lady, but she also loves all dogs. During her down time, she loves to golf, go to the gym, and spend time with her many pets. She has four cats named Tango, Cash, Princess, and Kitbull and two dogs named Monroe and Lily. Dr. Stone can't wait to see you and your fur-kids!

Logan Brandon

Logan is proud to have been with Highland Pointe since its beginning. He has loved animals of all kinds his whole life - mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and yes, even insects! He graduated from UNT with a Biology degree in 2013 and has worked in animal medicine since 2014. He loves getting to know every animal that comes to the clinic and especially enjoys winning over the shy ones! Logan was born and raised in Fort Worth and currently lives in Denton with his wonderful wife Zakiya and their two dogs - Cosmo and Penny, and cats - Zena and Yuki. When he isn't telling a story about his fur babies he is probably talking about food or telling a really corny joke!

Mandi Coats

Although always an animal lover, Mandi's interests in veterinary medicine began after she started volunteering with animal rescues over 12 years ago. She took particular interest in special needs cats and their medical care. This eventually blossomed into a love for the medical side of rescue, and Mandi started taking courses to become a licensed veterinary technician. Mandi has over 6 years of experience working in the field. She has quite the zoo at home with 4 cats named Caesar, Freya, Bobby B, and Bran; 3 dogs named Odd, Crystal, and Kella; and 6 chickens named Edna, Annabelle, Marchesa, Fiona, Reza, and Beyjay. She's passionate about animal rescue and has fostered over 40 dogs and cats. Although Mandi was born and raised here in Texas, she has recently returned from living in Toronto, Canada and Western New York for the last 4 years. She's glad to be back in this miserable heat! Mandi has been married for 18 years and has one daughter, Catherine. She's an advocate for her daughter who has Down Syndrome and volunteers with Special Olympics. She loves to fish, hike, camp, read, watch terrible reality television, and cook in her down time.
