Martin Beale is a former member of the British Army (Reservist) who moved to Somalia in September 2010 as Head of Security at Mogadishu Airport after 30 years of service. His task was to implement International Civil Aviation Organization procedures and build a more professional workforce to mitigate the risk of terrorist attacks. Alongside his military career, Martin had established a security company that manufactured and supplied cutting edge body armour and electronic counter measures (ECM) to allied forces and their sub-contractors engaged in the war on terror; he has worked in Afghanistan, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Guinea, Iraq, Kenya, Pakistan and South Africa.
