MICHELLE HUZELLA

Dr. Huzella, a board-certified ophthalmologist, was born in Toronto, Ontario to Hungarian immigrant parents. Growing up in the Buffalo NY area, she chose to follow in her mother's footsteps to become a medical doctor. Her undergraduate training was in biology at Duke University where she graduated with honors. She was ranked as one of the top students in her medical school, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Buffalo's Jacobs School of Medicine. Dr. Huzella is passionate about teaching medical students, ophthalmology residents, and anyone interested in learning about medicine. She lives in Frederick, Maryland with her husband, Dr. Louis M. Huzella who is a veterinary pathologist at the NIH, offers private veterinary services, and is a retired Army helicopter test pilot. They have raised a blended family of 5 children in Frederick, are avid volunteers in the community as well as strong supporters of Frederick Memorial Hospital.
