Sangeetha graduated from Anna University in the year 2015, with Master of Computer Application. During her career, she has independently managed the Patent Portfolios of various Institute's and Companies in India and overseas. She is well-versed in e-filing of Patents and National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) and has immense expertise in relation to Docketing and Forms preparation.
Akshaya P Sachin, Partner at KRIA Law, is an experienced Intellectual Property Strategist, specializing in Infringement Analysis, and trademark prosecution. She routinely assists clients in building Intellectual Property Enforcement Strategies and has successfully concluded several notable dispute negotiations for prominent clients.
With 10+ years of experience in one of the leading Intellectual Property Law firms in Asia, Akshaya steadily worked her way up by building her portfolio of clients in various sectors including broadcasting & entertainment, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, Hospitality etc.
During the course of her career, Akshaya has individually handled trademark portfolios for key clients across 140 countries by working closely with local counsels around the world. She has conducted large scale Intellectual Property Audits for compliance and protection of Intellectual Property. She has also assisted numerous clients with brand availability opinions, drafting and vetting of agreements specific to Intellectual Property such as Trademark License Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and Franchise Agreements.
Akshaya has experience handling matters before various judicial forums including lawsuits before High Courts; oppositions, cancellations, rectifications and other related proceedings before the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademark and the Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB).
A couple of her notable achievements include playing a major role in a multi-million-dollar transfer of rights transaction between two international FMCG companies and conceptualizing the first draft policy for setting up the National Intellectual Property Rights Cell (NIPRC) in India. She frequently conducts Intellectual Property awareness campaigns for start-ups, micro & small-scale industries in association with Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre, IIT Madras; Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM); Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
Akshaya graduated top of her class from the School of Law, Sastra University in 2014, and went on to secure an All-India 3 rd Rank in her P.G Diploma in Media Laws from NALSAR in 2016. A firm believer in giving back to society, she is also an active core member of Anugraha Trust, an NGO that helps children in conflict with the law find their feet and return to mainstream society.
Arjun Ramprasad, enrolled with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as of 2023, joined KRIA Law as an associate after graduating from Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad.
He is an integral part of the Trademarks, Enforcement and Data Privacy Team, and has also gained experience working with Patents and Geographical Indications during his training. His published blogs cover varied topics including cybersecurity and data privacy.

Jacob Kurian is a seasoned Intellectual Property lawyer with over 43 years of experience in the field, having enrolled the Bar in 1982. Mr Kurian specialises in Intellectual Property Law (especially Trademark and Copyright Law), Property Law (handling the legal side of the purchase, sale, gifting and leasing of residential, commercial, office and industry properties), Business Agreements and Contracts.
Having established his independent practice in the early years, Mr. Kurian has is one of the leaders in the registration and protection of Intellectual Property Rights. He has a wide range of clientele including start-ups to multi-billion-dollar companies.
Mr. Kurian provides consultancy and advice on business contracts and agreements and advises start-ups on all the legal steps to be taken right from the inception till date, keeping in mind the future requirements of investors and partners.
Jayabharathi TS, fondly called as "JB" is an alumna from VIT University, Chennai. Joined KRIA Law in 2023, with an abundant interest in IP Laws and varied experience in Litigation before Various High Courts, District forums and Consumer forums, she has developed a strong foundation in IP and understanding the proceedings before the Hon'ble Courts.
It is noteworthy that formerly associated with the Central Government, JB had argued and assisted in various significant cases before the Hon'ble Courts defending the Union of India. Over the years, the curiosity, excitement, and patience to learn everyday especially in IPR has enriched her knowledge and sculpted her skills regarding drafting, filling, and conducting extensive research on various topics pertaining to trademarks, copyrights & patents as well as corporate laws and their commercial implications that ensures the best result for the team.
She is laying the solid foundations while drafting and filling of lawsuits related to Trademark Infringement, Passing off, Copyright Infringement, and Patent Infringement before the Hon'ble Courts across the country.
Komal Kaul is an Attorney and Partner at KRIA Law. She has 16 years of practical and extensive knowledge in trademarks, designs and copyrights gained through first hand client experiences from various sectors including but not limited to Data Technology, Financial Technology, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, Fashion, Retail and much more. She graduated from the School of Law and Legal Studies, Indraprastha University in the year 2009 and completed her P.G Diploma in IPR from NLSIU in the year 2011.
Before joining KRIA Law, Komal was a Partner at a boutique IP law firm where she looked after all the facets of IP portfolios for leading Indian companies and managed such portfolios in South Asia for foreign clients. Komal has experience in advising the clients first hand on overall trademark protection strategies, licenses/assignments, enforcements, oppositions, counselling and advising them on best practices in clearance, monitoring and policing of trademarks. As a part of trademark enforcements, she has advised clients on all aspects including but not limited to strategy building, cease & desist notices, negotiations and undertakings with and from and infringers, customs enforcements, domain name complaints such as those related to UDRP and NIXI and taking court actions. Komal has also appeared before various judicial forums including High Courts, erstwhile Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) and Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks.
M S Bharath founded KRIA Law in March 2021 after 23 years of practice and 12 years of leading a regional office as a Senior Partner of a large Indian IP Firm. MS as he fondly referred to is a sought-after Litigator, Strategist and Counsellor in Intellectual Property, E-Commerce, Technology, Software, Franchising and Licensing spanning numerous industries and mentored several hundred Start Ups.
Bharath presently serves on the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association, INTA until 2026. He is also the Vice President of India Group of and International Councillor, APAA, Asian Patent Attorneys Association
In the year 2022, Bharath was one of the three (3) lawyers who were Co-opted Members of the for drafting the Rules for IP Division of Madras High Court by its IPR Committee.
India Business Law Journal identified Bharath as one of India's top lawyers and a member of its prestigious A-List for 2022-23. In 2022, he was identified as one of Asia's Leading: IP Expert by Asia IP. In 2021 he was identified as one of the India's Super Lawyers by Asia Legal Business. Madhura Shanthini is a Senior Associate at KRIA Law and has profound experience assisting clients with transactional legal requirements including commercial contracts, intellectual property, technology laws, data protection and privacy.
Having graduated from School of Excellence in Law (Chennai) in 2019, Madhura started her career with a pioneering Intellectual Property Law firm in Chennai. Driven by her passion for Technology Laws, she joined Zoho Corp, a reputed Indian SaaS unicorn as an in-house legal Counsel and focussed on legal and data protection compliance for 3 years. As an integral part of its Data Protection Team, she worked on the Privacy requirements across the globe including compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, FERPA, etc to name a few.
Having worked at a Law Firm and as an in-house counsel, she identifies the client requirement and addressed them swiftly and adequately. Such diversity brought her ease in understanding businesses' functioning while identifying the needs and risks involved to suitably protecting the clients' interests.
Madhura also holds a Diploma in Entrepreneurship Administration and Business Laws from NUJS, and an online certification ‘CS50 for Lawyers' from Havard School.
Beyond academics, while at Law School Madhura had bagged awards at various Moot Court competitions and paper presentations, including being the runners-up at Asia Pacific Moot Court Competition 2019 held by International Trademarks Association (INTA) in Singapore.
She also volunteers actively with Bhumi Organization, leading teams at chapter and national levels, in promoting education and upskilling of underprivileged children.
R Parthasarathy is an expert on Intellectual Property Laws, Tax Laws and WTO Trade Remedy Laws and commercial litigation. In IP laws he is an expert on Patents, Designs, Trademarks, Copyright, Plant Variety protection and Biological Diversity Act.
On the taxation front he is an expert on Excise, Customs (Valuation and classification in particular), Service Tax and presently GST Law. Additionally, he handles Foreign Trade Policy, commercial litigation and WTO trade remedy laws (including in government-to-government litigations in Geneva).
He is actively involved both in advisory work and in litigation in all the above areas. Before entering private practice, Parthasarathy was with the Government of India and held various positions such as Deputy Secretary & Director Ministry of Commerce (Antidumping), Director Railway Board and Accountant General, Tamilnadu.
He had audited the accounts of UN Headquarters and had been a UNDP consultant. He was a Principal Partner in the law firm Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan till 5th April 2021, for 25 years.
Apart from being an Advocate-on-record before the Supreme Court of India, he is also a qualified Patent Agent, Company Secretary, MBA, Fellow of Costs and Management Accountants of India after his Graduation in Physics. He, thus, brings with him more than 43 years of experience of which about 18 years is at the Higher administrative level in government.
Reshma has rich experience in IP prosecution and litigation as well. She has been managing portfolios of clients with several hundreds of proceedings before various courts, tribunals and forums including the Hon'ble High Court of Madras; City Civil Courts, Chennai; DRT, Chennai; Consumer Forums, Chennai; Trademark Office, Chennai and the erstwhile IPAB, Chennai.
Completing her graduation in Law from SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur in 2018, Reshma commenced her practice in a National IP firm prior to joining KRIA Law and currently is a member of International Trademark Association's (INTAs) Indigenous Rights Committee.

Sachin Manocha leads the Patent practice as a Partner at KRIA Law. Sachin is enriched with a diverse experience in the field of Patents whereby he routinely assists clients in building patent strategies in the entire spectrum of patent drafting, prosecution, and making appearances before the Indian Patent Office (IPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO).
He has successfully served the interest of the clients in various patent contentious matters such as (pre-grant/post-grant) oppositions, appeals, and revocations at IPO and erstwhile Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB); and patent litigation matters such as injunction, and infringement matters at Court of Law.
His expertise especially extends to the domains of mechanics, electronics, information and communication technological, telecommunication, bio-medical devices, and material sciences.
Sachin started his professional career by attaining expertise in patent drafting and prosecution in a large IP firm based in Delhi. Thereafter, he moved to one of the leading IP firms of India where he garnered rich experience, inter alia, in Indian prosecution including, pre-grant & post-grant oppositions, reply-statements, stress test analysis, technical know-how, infringement analysis, nullity, invalidity, and Freedom-to-operate (FTOs). In addition, he was directly involved with the local counsels for providing his technical expertise on foreign office such as especially EPO, USPTO, JPO, SIPO, and KPO.
Due to his ability to provide noteworthy technical analysis on foreign office actions, Sachin later joined a German patent law operating from Berlin Office.
Apart from his extensive experience in India, Sachin actively prosecutes European patent applications at European Patent Office (EPO) and formulates patent strategies in infringement, oppositions, and nullity proceedings. He is directly involved in prosecution of standard essential patents (SEPs) in European jurisdiction. He strategies and advises clients on FRAND and essentiality of SEP for both innovators and implementors.
While SEP litigation is a common place in both India, Europe, and the US, Sachin is one of extremely few people in India who deftly handles prosecution of SEPs while upholding the integrity of the scope intended by the standard.
Sachin holds an Honours degree in Physics from the University of Delhi, and an LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. He is also a recipient NPTEL programs in Patent Law from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. He is a registered Indian Patent agent and an Advocate. Above all, he currently serves as a member of Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA).
Mr. Siddharth Kurian Jacob with over seven years of legal practice is a Senior Associate at KRIA Law. Having completed his B. Com (Hons) at the Loyola College and acquired his LLB degree in Law from the SRM University, Siddharth is an expert in Trademark Prosecution. He has substantial expertise and experience in advising corporates on Intellectual Property Law, especially with regard to the selection, identification, registration and protection of Trademarks. Mr. Siddharth has advised multiple startups and MNC's on trademark issues and has provided advice and reports with regard to Freedom to Operate Searches for clients launching new brands in the market
