Welcome to the website of the CellCOM Research Group. Our group is a translational and clinical research group within the Center for Research in Nanomaterials and Biomedicine (CINBIO). Our approaches combine in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo models to conduct pre-clinical studies in age-related diseases and cancer. Our group is a multidisciplinary team that includes basic scientists (predoctoral, postdoctoral fellows and technicians) and clinical researchers such as pathologists, dermatologists, radiologists and surgeons... Our aims are to understand the physiopathology of connexin-linked diseases (cancer, inflammation, tissue degeneration), to design molecules and new drugs that modulate the activity of specific targets and to identify novel markers of disease prevention, diagnosis and disease management... We are focused on understanding the role of connexins and pannexins in osteoarthritis, skin wound healing in oncological patients, metastasis and resistance to targeted cancer..
