Alexio Garcia

Job Titles:

As a technical all-rounder, Alexio builds mockups, works on the assembly of installations on site and is responsible for the maintenance of projects. He was a DJ for many years, produced his own music as well as a radio show and was as a sound and lighting technician. Since 2017, he worked on several of our projects as a freelancer before joining the iart team permanently in 2022.

Anna Zaugg

In our projects, we combine the physical with the digital, thereby arousing emotions in visitors. After her training as an interior decorator, Anna studied interior design and scenography at the FHNW School of Art and Design. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2014 and then worked at the Basel scenography office Groenlandbasel and at Mad Atelier in London. She now brings her many years of experience in the conception, design and implementation of exhibition projects to iart, where she has been project manager since 2022.

Barbara Naegelin

As an artist, curiosity is my driving force. I also try to bring this openness into my work at iart. Barbara has worked at iart since 2002. She was responsible for financial management and HR administration until spring 2018 and was a member of the Executive Board from 2013 to 2018. Barbara then took on the role of process manager for the executive board team until November 2021. She has since been working in the areas of organisational development, sustainability, strategy and as a link between the iart Board of Directors and the iart team. Besides her functions for iart, Barbara works as an independent artist, covering a wide range of artistic practices: from visual art, music, and performance to curatorial projects. After completing commercial training, Barbara obtained a diploma in fine art from the Lucerne School of Art and Design (1993). She also holds a Bachelor degree in visual arts and media arts from the FHNW Academy of Art and Design (2002), and a Master of Arts Transdisciplinarity from the Zurich University of the Arts (2016).

Bettina Lotz

Bettina Lotz studied media, communication and cultural studies at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia, the University of Kassel, Germany, and the University of Florence, Italy. After completing her master's degree, she worked as an intern with the Goethe Institute in London, before returning to Switzerland to join the publishing house Lars Müller Publishers, where she was responsible for the marketing and communication department. She has been working at iart since July 2013 and is in charge of communications.

Christian Reimann

It is the discussions in the interdisciplinary team that give rise to innovation. Thinking ahead together. After training to be a qualified carpenter and several positions in Switzerland and abroad, Christian Reimann completed his degree in Product and Industrial Design with a BA of Arts. He works at iart as a project manager and had already fulfilled this position at tegoro solutions ag since March 2009.

Daniel Lüthi

Creating unique projects in an interdisciplinary team always drives my work at iart. Daniel originally completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical draughtsman, then trained as a multimedia producer and studied interaction design and scenography at Zurich University of the Arts. After completing his Master's degree, he joined iart as a media planner and project manager and worked on projects including i-factory (2010) and Children's Science Park (2009). He then spent several years as a project manager in the exhibition and software sector before returning to iart in 2019.

David Hänggi

I evaluate technologies as regards their suitability for iart. We set a high bar, and often end up developing them ourselves. David has an engineering degree in mechatronics. Since 2008 he realises projects at iart and is responsible for the hardware development of electronics and mechanics, hardware-related software development, system integration, development of media control systems and production supervision. As the person responsible for technology management, he supports our projects with a focus on technical implementation. He investigates and validates technologies, is responsible for hardware purchasing and technical operations. David is the father of a little girl, likes to spend his free time kitesurfing and plays drums in the band Schwellheim.

Dominik Marosi

Dominik studied media, philosophy and ethnology in Basel and Helsinki. After short excursions into the world of think tanks, advertising and a first engagement with iart, he worked as assistant to the artistic director for three editions of the animation film festival Fantoche. In Zurich, he subsequently established the Ludicious video game festival as festival director for the first three editions. Since 2017, Dominik is with iart again. Initially at home in communications, he has also been working in project development since January 2018. In addition to his work at iart, Dominik is a lecturer at the University of Basel and implements his own projects in the field of exhibitions and the temporary use of spaces - almost always in connection with video games.

Elias Hodel

Elias studied visual communication at the FHNW in Basel. He is particularly interested in the technical challenges in design and wrote his bachelor thesis on «Visual Exploration in Augmented Reality». In it he examined the possibilities that the Hololens can offer designers. Since 2019 Elias works at iart as a Unity developer. In this role he simulates and develops interactive installations and immersive spaces in a real-time 3D environment.

Elisa Berlin

Erik Axel Eggeling

Erik studied building informatics and cultural geography in Lund, fine arts with Sigtuna Folkhögskola and Architectural Lighting Design at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Before joining iart in 2019, he worked in data processing for digital maps and light and video control - both as a club scene technician and media architecture engineer. At iart he works as a software developer at various interfaces of vision and execution. He is particularly interested in the intermedial phenomena that arise from the fusion of video and light. In addition, he researches in artistic projects the materiality and standardization of digital media, their aesthetics and effects on our perception.

Florian Bertram

Florian is responsible for product development at iart. As part of our interdisciplinary team, he designs and accompanies projects from brainstorming and prototype development to coordination of production and on-site assembly. Florian studied product and industrial design at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. He then worked for two and a half years as an industrial designer for the agencies Designculture and Brandpulse in Zurich. He joined iart at the end of 2017.

Guillaume Massol

As a programming designer I always moved between these two worlds. At iart there are no such boundaries. Guillaume is a designer who works with code. Before joining iart, he was a UX consultant for several companies and co-founded a design studio in Beijing. As an independent UX and interaction designer, he has also participated in a variety of interactive projects. In addition to his work at iart, Guillaume develops art and design projects using code, with a special focus on machine learning techniques. Since 2017 Guillaume has been a guest lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he teaches generative computer graphics, machine learning and UX. He is interested in open source development, art, design and technology.

Ivan Hörler

Ivan began his career as a multimedia electronics engineer. He specialised in the implementation of broadcast projects and accompanied a band for six years as a sound engineer. Between 2010 and 2012, he travelled to Asia, North and South America before returning to the broadcast sector as a project planner and system engineer. At the same time, he occasionally supported artists in the realisation of their media ideas, which resulted in an appointment as technical director of the artist studio Bleifrei in Aarau. Ivan has been working for iart as a media planner since 2017. In addition, he is completing further training in the field of IT application development and is working with his daughter on the automation of a coffee machine.

Ivo Schüssler

Ivo studied free art in Lucerne and cognitive systems and interactive media in Barcelona. In 2010 he moved to Berlin, where he worked as a freelance software developer in the field of media architecture. Ivo joined iart in 2016 and develops software for various interfaces and applications. His special passion is visual phenomena that can be generated in real time with code - and the flying of acrobatic maneuvers with his paraglider.

Jakob Leonard

Jakob is a process manager at iart. Born in Berlin, he studied law for several years before moving to Switzerland in 2015. Here he worked at start-ups in Basel and Zurich and specialised in the design of internal processes. He has many years of experience in facilitation, optimising communication within teams and knowledge transfer within organisations.

Jeannine Spozio

At iart you can think and experiment multidimensionally. To support the teams in this is very exciting for me. Jeannine is a qualified interaction director FH and has been working at iart since 2008. Initially responsible for communication, she quickly switched to project and process management and has worked on projects such as i-Factory, Stücki, and the Swiss Pavilion at the Expo Shanghai 2010. Her studies at HyperWerk, her years of experience as a project head in advertising, and her basic training in sales have benefited her in the process. Responsible for human resources, she has demonstrated her sense for people when putting together the iart team and as coach for project managers. She is also working on further developing our agile methods. Outside of iart, Jeannine is passionately dedicated to her favorite sport, tennis; she impresses with her skill at the annual iart tennis tournament. She also likes to relax by gardening on her balcony at home.

Jinglei Zhang

Jinglei is a media planner and technical project manager. At the interface between computer science, mechanics and electronics he is in charge of the planning of media technology.

Jérôme is a trained computer scientist and has been responsible for IT support and hardware procurement at iart since 2020. As part of our servicing team, he also carries out regular maintenance for our customers and provides support for ongoing projects.

Liam Carter

Liam studied animation and film at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. He graduated in 2021 with a Master of Arts in Film with a specialisation in animation. During his studies, he worked as a freelance 3D artist on the development of various games and animated films and also freelanced for iart. Since 2022, Liam has been working at iart as a 3D generalist, designing 3D visualisations of concepts or creating digital twins of real spaces, for example.

Lukas Fitze

In my opinion, what distinguishes iart projects is the seamless integration of digital technology into physical space. A Swiss transplant to New York, Lukas started out in corporate advertising in Zurich, cut his teeth at New York shops like Ogilvy & Mather and Publicis - becoming well versed in international media planning and the emerging digital landscape. He transitioned into the pioneering wave of online digital entertainment; segued into nation branding, public diplomacy (for Presence Switzerland) and since then has become a producer of tech and culture initiatives. Since 2017 Lukas represents the interests of iart in North America and collaborates on international project development.

Lukas Tschümperlin

Lukas is responsible for the financial management at iart. He supports projects with regards to their financial and legal aspects, in order to recognize potential risks early on and respond to them. After studying law and his degree as MLaw, Lukas completed a teacher training program for the secondary level and taught economics and law at several schools. Since his studies he has also held various positions at festivals, for example as a member of the festival management of the Stanser Musiktage or, most recently, at Ludicious - Zürich Game Festival, where he was responsible for finances and administration. In addition to his work at iart, Lukas is also a lecturer in adult education.

Marius Hügli

Marius Hügli is a visual communication designer and has been working at iart since 2013. Before that he was a graphic designer for the Messe Basel and developed two augmented reality books as a freelance graphic designer. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication from FHNW HGK Basel and is a trained Polygraf.

Markus Ebbighausen

After his studies in media informatics in Berlin, Markus Ebbighausen worked as a project manager in media design for several years. He then worked as a project manager in software development, before joining tegoro solutions ag in October 2010. Since the merger he has been part of our software engineering team.

Michael Lotz

Lotz is a software developer who is at home in many programming languages and on very different platforms. His expertise extends from programming applications by way of embedded software engineering and controlling installations to networks. Lotz discovered his passion for programming when he was nine and he taught himself the basics using a handbook and an English dictionary. He completed an apprenticeship as computer programmer and worked freelance for many years before joining iart in 2010. In his free time, Lotz works more or less intensely on Haiku, an open-source project that is building and developing an operating system modeled on BeOS, and he is also interested in everything that can be controlled by a computer: 3D printers, CNC milling, robotics, and so on.

Moritz Meier

I am fascinated by the combination of physical manifestation and digital design possibilities. At iart both worlds come together. After completing his bachelor's degree in post-industrial design, Moritz first went into business for himself as a designer of outdoor knives, which he created by combining traditional craftsmanship with digital fabrication. He then worked in an advertising agency, was a freelance photographer and studied Integrative Design at the FHNW in Basel. He wrote his master thesis on speculative design and the new design possibilities offered by block chain tokens or machine learning. Moritz has been working as an agile project coach at iart since 2020.

Oliver Hagmann

We apply the same investigative rigor to our projects - as well as to ourselves, as an organisation. Oliver graduated in media sciences, sociology and philosophy at the University of Basel. Until his start at iart 2011, he worked in communications coordination and as release manager at Digris AG, operator of the user-generated radio Open Broadcast and developer of the online production platform of the same name. In his spare time, he is co-operator of the network label Interdisco.net. Oliver initially worked for iart as a process manager, and has been project manager since 2016.

Raphael Andres

Raphael completed an apprenticeship as a mediamatrician and then studied Digital Ideation at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. As part of his bachelor thesis, he worked with iart to develop an interactive installation for the exhibition "The Incredible World of Photography" at the Kunstmuseum Basel. It used artificial intelligence to make a huge collection of historical photographs accessible in a new way. Following this, Raphael did an internship at iart and has been working with us as a software developer since 2021.

Reto Weljatschek

I like to research and to try things out until they work. At iart, I can do just that. Reto Weljatschek studied industrial and product design at FHNW.
