MICHELLE THORN

I grew up on Whidbey Island, WA, where I attended a small school. Even being in a small island town, I was offered many different opportunities that enriched my childhood... In school, I was part of a club for girls interested in technology. This gave me the opportunity to teach other girls how to build computers. In doing so, I gained valuable leadership skills. During high school, I was an active member in the band program offered. With the Jazz Band, I participated in the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival in Moscow, ID. We went on to win our division which gave us the opportunity to play on the big stage. When I was not spending my time with music, I was spending time with my horse and in 4-H. While I was in 4-H, I participated in meetings with the leaders to help revise our county rulebook and problem solve on issues affecting our division.
