Moreover, ECC has a subsidiary Holding called Petrochemical Industries Design and Engineering Co. (PIDEC) which is a leading engineering company in Iran. PIDEC was established in 1985 and was acquired by ECC in 1994 in order to have and achieve the technical capability for executing the projects on EPC basis. PIDEC is equipped with a sophisticated computer system enjoying vast range of hardware/ software facilities which are of required for all CAD/CAE analyses and development works needed for successful completion of the projects. PIDEC was granted the ISO 9001 certificate in September 1997. In 1995, ECC bought 96 percent of the shares of Welding Industries Electrode Manufacturing Co. (WIEM), which is located in Shiraz and produces 10000 TPA of different types of welding electrodes under the license of Swedish ESAB Company.
