Alexandra Schild

Alexandra has been working in the addiction and mental health field since receiving her master's in social work degree from Columbia University in 2014 with a concentration in health, mental health, and disabilities. Alexandra is a licensed clinical social worker, licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor, and an approved clinical supervisor by the New Jersey Board of Social Workers and has worked in detox, mental health, and primary substance abuse inpatient and outpatient facilities. Alexandra utilizes a variety of treatment modalities including DBT, CBT, strengths based, and solution-focused techniques. Alexandra is passionate about helping loved ones of our patients to navigate their own recovery process!

Amy McGuigan

Athena Hepler

Athena was one of the first resident managers hired at our Extended Care Program. Through her hard work, she is now supervising all day-to-day operations in the same program. Athena has been working in the field for over five years. Athena is a certified CPR/first aid instructor and a peer recovery specialist. Athena has been sober since 2012 and has found that helping other people is her life calling.

Casey Castronova - CEO

Casey has worked in addiction treatment since 2010 in several capacities. She started in the field as a primary therapist gaining experience working with adolescents and adults in detox, residential, partial care and intensive outpatient settings. Casey has worked at Pinelands Recovery Center since its opening in 2014 as a therapist; she later became the clinical director and is now the CEO. Since entering her administrative roles, Casey's focus has been on offering and delivering quality programming, as well as staff professional development. She utilizes a strengths-based, person-centered approach in her supervision of the team at Pinelands, ensuring that the programs and staff reach their maximum potential to best serve our patients. Casey is a licensed clinical social worker, as well as a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor. She received her Master in Social Work degree from Monmouth University with a concentration in Clinical Practice with Children and Families. She is an approved clinical supervisor by the New Jersey Board of Social Workers. Casey is proud to bring her immense clinical expertise to help Pinelands continue to support the needs of patients and their families in New Jersey and throughout the northeast region.

Christopher Pawling

Chris received his bachelor's in journalism from Rowan University in 2007 and spent seven years in sports journalism before entering the field of addiction treatment in 2015. Chris worked as a resident manager at Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford for two years, and in October 2017, took over as alumni coordinator. He also serves as a CADC intern and is enrolled in classes to complete his certification. A former volunteer firefighter, Chris believes in the spirit of service and can think of no better way to spend his career than in the service of helping others.

Courtney Milligan

Courtney has been in the field of addiction treatment since 2019 and began her professional career as a behavioral technician. Courtney joined the Pinelands family in 2021 as a Case Manager. She has experience working with adults in the detox and residential levels of care. Courtney is actively pursuing education to become a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor within the next few years. Seeing the progress that a client can make in a short period of time is what fuels Courtney's passion for this work. She also enjoys working with families and helping them heal as well.

David Babcock

David is a primary therapist at Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University and is a certified alcohol and drug counselor licensed in the state of New Jersey. David also received a certificate in drug and alcohol counseling from Villanova University. David uses a multi-faceted approach to counseling that combines evidence-based techniques, such motivational interviewing and cognitive behavior therapy, along with spirituality and a dose of humor that gives clients a hands-on practical approach to problem solving.

David Gigliotti

Dr. Gigliotti is the medical director at Pinelands Recovery Center in Medford. He is board-certified in family medicine and addiction medicine. He received his license to practice in New Jersey in 1995. Dr. Gigliotti graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at The University of Medicine and Dentistry School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Gigliotti has been in private family practice since 1997. Concerned and compelled by the nationwide problem of drug addiction and overdose, Dr. Gigliotti earned Board Certification from the American Board of Addiction Medicine in 2014. As medical director, he provides compassionate care and treats his patients in a holistic approach to better health. He is uniquely qualified to recognize and treat the co-occurring disorders that can lead to treatment success.

Dr. Matthew Ruble

Dr. Matthew Ruble is the Chief Medical Officer of Discovery Behavioral Health. Dr. Ruble has a deep passion for advancing the behavioral health industry through training, publication, innovation, payer relations and collaboration. He spent 20 years of his career working with the Cambridge Health Alliance, a health system affiliated with Harvard Medical School, responsible for training clinicians, residents and medical staff in core evidence-based practices including: • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) • Psychiatric curriculum development • Research • Publications • Speaking nationally on evidence-based practices • Integrated behavioral and physical health care delivery As Lead Medical Director overseeing Clinical Behavioral Health Strategy and Operations for Humana, he was part of the team that reviewed and advised on all behavioral health technology innovations for investment and implementation. His expertise spans consistent delivery of innovative and value-based, industry-leading, and integrated behavioral health programs and services. Dr. Ruble earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. From there, he attended the Carver School of Medicine at the University of Iowa, earning his Doctor of Medicine degree. He then attended Harvard Medical School in Boston to intern at the Department of Medicine and became a resident at the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Ruble became Chief Resident of the Psychopharmacology at Cambridge Health Alliance as well as a physician educator at the Academy at Harvard Medical School.

Georgeena Jacobson

Gee obtained her Associate of Science degree in nursing from Atlantic Cape Community College in 2018 and became a registered nurse. She began her career at Pinelands Recovery Center as the first overnight nurse in 2018, quickly finding love for the addiction community and a strong passion to help. With a history of customer service and medical office management, she quickly took on more responsibilities within the nursing department. Gee was promoted to nursing supervisor in 2021 and works primarily in the Adult Program. She is responsible for providing leadership to the nursing team and oversight to ensure patients receive the best standard of care. She is also one of Pinelands' two crisis intervention training Instructors, providing all staff with a de-escalation approach to distressed patients.

Jackie Lotan

Jackie is a nursing supervisor at Pinelands Recovery Center. She obtained her associate degree in nursing through Rowan College at Burlington County College in 2018, at which time she became a registered nurse. She is a certified CPR trainer through the American Red Cross. She has been providing care at Pinelands since 2018 where she found her passion for helping patients who were struggling with substance use disorders and mental health. Jackie started off as one of the first overnight shift nurses at Pinelands and has demonstrated compassion and strong patient advocacy skills which lead her to the role of nurse supervisor in March 2023. As a nursing supervisor, Jackie aids in coordinating patient care to ensure quality outcomes, providing leadership to the well-trained nursing team, facilitating efficient communication between patients, nursing staff and physicians.

Jamie Tanda

Jamie has worked in the addiction field since 2007. She received her master's in social work degree from Rutgers University in 2011. She is a licensed clinical social worker, licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor, certified clinical supervisor and an approved clinical supervisor by the New Jersey Board of Social Workers. She is currently seeking her International Certified Gambling Counselor Certification and continuously looks to find ways to grow clinically to increase her knowledge and expertise in working with the recovering population. Jamie has extensive experience working with the recovering, co-occurring population. She has an absolute passion for supporting individuals and their families as they navigate their recovery journey. Her supervision and leadership style are a collaborative, strengths-based approach that empowers and challenges staff to utilize their natural strengths and develop new areas of growth in their career. Jamie strives to ensure that under her clinical leadership, her team provides the highest standard of clinical care to the patients we serve and is dedicated to continuing to improve the patient experience. She is excited to bring her dynamic clinical experience and supportive leadership to the amazing team at Pinelands Recovery Center.

Jessica Ortiz

Jessica is a primary therapist at Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University. She is a licensed social worker (LSW) in New Jersey and is pursing licenses to become a clinical social worker (LCSW) and a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor (LCADC). Since 2017, Jessica has worked in the mental health and substance use field. She is passionate in helping patients achieve their fullest potential in their recovery. In therapy, Jessica's style is warm, direct, goal-oriented and trauma-focused. She draws from a variety of treatment modalities including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy, mindfulness and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). When supporting patients and families through the process of change, Jessica aims to make sure that they know they are valued in their work together.

Joseph Edwards

Joe started his career in the field with Pinelands Recovery Center in June 2016. Joe was first a Behavioral Health Technician, Recovery Coach, and a Case Manager before being promoted to his current position as a Primary Therapist. Joe is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Joe is also in the process of pursuing his higher education degree through Rutgers University BSW Program. Joe decided to enter this field to help others regain their lives and live up to their fullest potential. As a man in recovery, Joe strives to help others like himself show up and be the sons, daughters, fathers and mothers they were meant to be all along.

Joseph McCall

Joe has been in the restaurant business for 24 years. Prior to his promotion to food service supervisor, he was the head chef at Pinelands since 2021. He previously worked as a corporate chef/manager for Compass Group for nine years. As an individual in recovery, Joe has had a whole new perspective on life, and coming to work every day and helping people is something he looks forward to. Outside of work, he is an avid athlete and has played multiple sports, including basketball and soccer, at Penn State University. He gets the privilege of raising three beautiful kids: two boys and his princess. In his spare time, Joe enjoys spending time with family, cooking and dining at new restaurants.

Kennedy Cipolla

Kennedy began working at Pinelands Recovery Center in 2021, a year after starting her own personal recovery journey in 2020 here at Pinelands. Initially hired as a behavioral health technician, Kennedy quickly became passionate about this line of work. Kennedy has moved through multiple positions at Pinelands, being promoted to a recovery coach and pursuing her Peer Recovery Coach Specialist certification through the state of New Jersey. A year later, she moved to another role as administrative assistant, spending a period of time in that role before starting her career as a case manager. Kennedy is currently continuing her education and working on a bachelor's degree in social work at Rutgers University along with her CADC. Throughout her time at Pinelands, Kennedy found a passion for helping others.

Kevin DeForge

Kevin started his career in the field of substance use treatment at Pinelands Recovery Center in July 2022. Kevin was initially a behavioral health technician and was later promoted to a behavioral health technician supervisor. As a supervisor, he gained experience in making sure all patient needs were met and ensuring their stay at Pinelands was positive and fulfilling. Kevin developed an interest in furthering his education in this field. He became a case manager and is now enrolled in courses to become a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC). He also earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Rowan University. Being in recovery himself, Kevin has a compassionate and understanding approach when it comes to patient care.

Kristi Collins

Kristi is the psychiatric nurse practitioner at Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford residential level of care. Kristi obtained her BSN from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 2001 and went on to work as a cardiac nurse, nursing manager and nursing instructor on telemetry/ICU/CCU units. In 2007, she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner License from Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey, and obtained board certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Most of Kristi's work as an APN has been functioning as a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Penn Medicine Princeton House Behavioral Health in Princeton, New Jersey, an inpatient mental health setting, working with the following patient populations and specialties: young adult detox, adult co-occurring/dual-diagnosis, adult medical detox, adult addiction recovery, first responder treatment services and adult acute psychiatric. She also functioned as a psychiatric APN at Penn Medicine Princeton House Outpatient PHP/IOP location in Hamilton, New Jersey, on an adult unit working with young adult/adult psychiatric and young adult/adult co-occurring/dual diagnosis population. Kristi started working at Pinelands Recovery Center in 2018. She consistently dedicates her time at Pineland's to truly understanding her patients' needs and advocating for her patients within the clinical team.

Kristin Meehan

Kristin is a highly skilled and compassionate care coordination manager at Pinelands. She joined the team in 2021 bringing a wealth of experience and training in the behavioral health industry. Throughout her career, Kristin focuses on growing and building strong, productive and collaborative relationships within the industry while providing an outlet for those struggling with a substance use disorder. She obtained her certifications as a recovery specialist and a family recovery specialist through the Pennsylvania Certification Board, completing the CRS & CFRS program at Penn State University. As a person in long-term recovery since 2010, she brings personal and professional experiences in her everyday work. She is a passionate advocate for the individuals and families she serves. Kristin dedicates her life to guiding individuals in their recovery journey and providing hope to all those afflicted and their families by showing that treatment works, and recovery is possible. Beyond her professional endeavors, Kristin's personality and work-life balance are shaped by her role as a parent. She is most proud of being a mom and she finds great joy in supporting her son's growth, accomplishments in sports and education, and personal development. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Lance Russell - COO

Lance is the Operations Director at Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford. He has a bachelor's degree from Eastern University in Organizational Management. Prior to working at Pinelands Recovery Center, Lance worked for many years in residential lending and title insurance, including 13 years as a manager of a title company. He joined Pinelands Recovery Center in 2014 and was integral in overseeing the opening of both Pinelands programs. Through his hard work and a passion for helping people, Lance has acquired the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective leader in a treatment facility.

Logan Schwiering

Logan started his career in the field at Pinelands Recovery Center in September 2018. Logan was initially a part-time Resident Manager and later promoted to a full-time Recovery Coach. As a Recovery Coach he gained experience working one-on-one with clients and developed an interest in furthering his education in this field. Later becoming a Case Manager, Logan is now enrolled in a local college for both his CADC and a degree in Social Work. Nicole Melendez

Nicole is the director of nursing at Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford. She obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing from Mercer County Community College in 2008. She is board certified in geriatric medicine. Nicole has been practicing as an RN for 11 years, treating patients with co-occurring disorders while focusing on ensuring that services are always compassionate and individualized. Nicole spent nine years of her nursing career working in the field as a direct care nurse and then went on to nursing management within Princeton Healthcare System. She worked in all areas of the hospital but spent most of her time in the intensive care unit and behavioral health emergency room setting. In 2016 and 2017, she spent time as a travel nurse in south Florida where she worked in Miami and Delray Beach. There she found her passion for helping patients who were struggling with addiction and concurrent medical and mental health issues. As director of nursing, Nicole provides leadership and direction to the nursing and medical staff. Nicole is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all functions of the nursing department, as well as coordinating care for her patients. Nicole is a strong advocate for her patients and always assures their needs are being met by the treatment team at Pinelands.

Nicolle White

Nicolle started out as a resident manager at Pinelands Recovery Center back in 2015. Through her dedication and hard work, Nicolle has transitioned from many roles in operations and has recently moved over to clinical as a case manager of the Young Adult program. She graduated in the summer of 2022 with a BSW and is currently in the process of pursuing her MSW. Nicolle has been working in the field of substance use disorder for eight years. Nicolle has been sober since 2012 and has always been passionate about helping those around her.

Robert Brady

Robert has been affiliated with Pinelands since 2014. He started in operations, gaining experience as a lead resident manager and a skilled recovery coach. Robert transitioned to the clinical department, becoming a counselor intern, spending two years in case management. Upon completion of his internship, Robert spent the next three years as a primary therapist. In 2022, he was promoted to the Adult Program clinical supervisor. Robert has experience providing services in a variety of settings, throughout the full continuum of care. Robert encourages each patient to tap into their own resilience through a strength-based approach, utilizing motivational enhancement, family counseling, cognitive restructuring and trauma-informed experiential methodology. As a supervisor, Robert aims to guide his team with a strong emphasis on transparency, collaboration and empowerment. Robert is a certified alcohol and drug counselor and a certified experiential specialist, with a degree in social work from Rowan College of South Jersey. Robert is honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the personal development of our staff, our patients and their loved ones.

Samantha Bradley

Samantha started with Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford in August 2016 as a resident manager and was quickly promoted to a recovery mentor. Through her dedication and hard work, she transitioned to case manager for the newly opened residential program in April 2018 where her passion continued to grow. Samantha began working with families providing support and resources as the family wellness coordinator. She has since transitioned to a primary therapist in the Young Adult Residential program and obtained her CADC in 2022. Samantha enjoys helping patients address personal issues and improving their interpersonal relationships in early recovery.

Stephanie Cicale

Stephanie received her bachelor's degree as a psychology major from Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey. Stephanie is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor (LCADC). Stephanie has experience in multiple substance use and mental health settings.
