RINLOBAY

In the Mariña area of Lugo stands a narrow natural port, with a primitive and archaic flavour. Stranded between the rocks of the cove formed at the mouth of the "small river" that gives the place its name, the port of the medieval Village Meyrengos looks out to the West, sheltered from the "Nordés" and the rising sea swells that invade the pebbled beach upstream. Hidden and protected by the gradient of the cliff, the hamlet went unnoticed to the absent-minded traveller who crossed the "Rasa" following the edge of the A road that runs parallel to the coast. To find it, it is necessarz to know the old maps and to turn off the road towards the sea at San Xillao, five kilometres before Rinlo.
