Carol-Lynn Roman is a native Floridian who has lived in Pinellas County her entire life. She graduated from Dunedin High School in 1991. She attended Stetson University in Deland on academic and service organization scholarships and graduated from The University of South Florida in 1995 with a degree in Mass Communications. She also received a minor degree in Political Science.
Carol-Lynn began working in the legal field as early as high school and continued in the field throughout her education. She utilized her education in gaining management positions in Bay Area law firms and has been the Firm Administrator of Roman Austin Personal Injury Lawyers since its inception. Carol-Lynn is also a Florida Registered Paralegal.
Carol-Lynn has extensive training and experience in litigation support and, in particular, the jury selection process. When she is not assisting in trial, Carol-Lynn handles all aspects of the firm management including marketing and client relations.
Carol-Lynn is a recent graduate of the prestigious Leadership Pinellas program. She was on the Board of Directors of the Homeless Emergency Project for three years and has held leadership roles with the foundations of Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital and Morton Plant Mease Hospital.
Carol-Lynn has 2 daughters and resides in Clearwater with her husband.
Cate Nease joined Roman Austin Personal Injury Lawyers in 2004. She has more than 30 years of experience as a paralegal covering many areas of practice and now specializes in personal injury, trucking accidents, brain injuries, and wrongful death. Her main duties are focused on cases that are in litigation and assisting the attorneys with jury trials. Cate attends seminars and legal education courses to maintain her status as a Florida Registered Paralegal. Born and raised in Clearwater, Florida, Jenna Payne has called Florida her home her entire life. She is currently obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with a Pre-Law focus and intends to complete law school once she graduates. As our demand writer, Jenna utilizes her ability to synthesize pertinent information specific to each case, in tandem with her propensity to deeply empathize with each client, to ensure that every client can receive the outcome they truly deserve. Jenna previously worked at an insurance defense law firm, but ultimately decided to pursue a career at Roman Austin Personal Injury Lawyers so that she could be on the right side of the question.
Jennifer graduated from River Ridge High school and attended St Petersburg College. She joined Roman Austin Personal Injury Lawyers in June of 2021, looking for a career change from the medical field. Jennifer guides our new clients through the beginning phase of their case and assists our demand preparation team, gathering and securing support evidence. This firm values her dedication and attention to detail. Her fresh eyes and compassion for our clients is a bonus. Jennifer and her husband have 5 children and reside in Trinity. John was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a graduate of the class of 2000 from St. Petersburg High School. He then attended the University of Florida for both his undergraduate work as well as law school. He received a Bachelor's of Science degree from the Fisher School of Accounting in 2004 and his Juris Doctorate from the Levin College of Law in 2008.
Jonna relocated to Florida from Long Island, NY, in 1993. She began a career in law enforcement with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office until the birth of her daughter in 2008. Jonna returned to the professional business world in 2008, working as a Medical Assistant for ten years. She joined the team at Roman Austin Personal Injury Lawyers in June of 2021, where she brings her medical profession experience and exceptional people skills to work. Helping our clients through their initial contact with our office and guiding them through what can be confusing and uncertain moments. She supports our legal team and helps to ensure an organized and smooth experience for our clients. Jonna and her husband, Rick, who is also a Deputy Sheriff of Pinellas County, live in Trinity where they raise their daughter, enjoy cooking and entertaining with friends, and are active members of their community and their Law Enforcement Officer family.

Attorney Mark Roman is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer practicing across the State of Florida. He founded Roman Austin Personal Injury Lawyers in 1996 out of a passion to help accident victims rebuild their lives. He is a Tampa Bay native, and is passionate about representing the injured in his hometown. He received his undergraduate education from the University of Florida College of Journalism in 1981, and after working as a writer for a season, he decided to return to school to pursue his Juris Doctor, which he obtained from Florida State University College of Law in 1986.
Mark has an incredible work ethic. He was born to immigrant parents and worked many blue-collar jobs to pay his way through school. Attorney Mark Roman is one of the few attorneys who has passed the rigorous examination to become Board Certified as an expert in Civil Trial Law.
