Abid Malik

Abid Malik has over 24 years of sales, marketing, finance, and business development experience. Most recently he co-founded Indus Venture that mentors and helps Innovative start-ups funded in early and revenue stages. In 2011, he co-founded Visiting Providers, a medical practice in Missouri for homebound patients and completed development of an EMR and Practice Management Solution for home health care that helps reduce healthcare cost. During 1995 he co-founded Nexlogic where he served as CFO and member of the board for 10 years. Nexlogic provides prototype design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of printed circuit boards with 72 employees and over 17 millions in annual revenues. At the age of 21, he was running a small paint manufacturing facility and discovered poster color formula that rivaled German's Pelican brand. His desire for higher education brought him to California in 1982 where he completed his bachelor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Having passion for entrepreneurship and technology, he started his first venture in California and successfully ran or managed three additional start-ups since 1990. He is member of the Intl. board of Minaret Business Organization (MBO) that has chapters in USA and Asia. He is an independent trustee (emeritus) at a socially responsible Amana Mutual Funds (AMANX, AMAGX, AMDX) that manages over 3.5 billions in assets. Abid also serves as member of the board for Strategic Research Circle, a non-profit that does research in the area of private enterprise and social responsibility. During 2013, he was named "Process Tycoon" during a business conference at University of Central Missouri.

Dr. Izhar Hashmi

Since 2012 Dr. Hashmi is Director of Operation at Punjab Welfare Trust. PWTD supports over 100 organisations that help rehabilitation of disabled children and adults all across Punjab. He has 24 years of management experience in medical and pharmaceutical industry, including multinational corporations. After graduation from King Edward Medical College, he did his post graduation in Oncology and Radiation therapy. He also joined Institute of Public health for master in public health. He compiled and wrote dissertations on "the effects of ionizing radiations" and " soft tissue Sarcomas-a retrospective and prospective study. He has produced several research and educational material covering work in Ca Ovary, Limb salvage in soft tissue sarcomas, hazards of smoking, breast cancer, prevention of hepatitis, diabetes, and dengue fever He has conducted number of trainings and courses at various seminars and conferences in marketing, strategic partnership, visioning, time management, and leadership. He is certified manager of American Management Association (Intl). He also attended many high profile management trainings within and outside Pakistan. He won scholarships during his early education, was best salesperson at ATCO, and won maximum incentive awards at Schering Plough Inc. (USA) Dr. Hashmi is Director at Akhuwat, an interest free microfinance, Project Director at Akhuwat Health Services. He is board member at Waseela Foundation, Trustee Brotherhood Trust foundation, Member advisory board of Help Line, Member Thalassemia society of Pakistan, Executive member Fountain House. Sana Jalil Mela

Sana Jalil Mela is an Entrepreneurship Development Consultant with a specialization in incubating startups. Her most recent training focused on the development and management of micro enterprises, where she worked with IFC under the business edge program. The program primarily targeted the incubation of small and medium enterprises, and dealt with the process of improving their business performance and management capacity. In particular, this training of trainers allowed her to better understand and gauge the development process of women owned enterprises and agricultural businesses. She is now a certified trainer for the Business Edge Program. Sana has launched various initiatives with SURE Entrepreneurship Development Institute (SEDI) by working with International Academic Bodies and Networks like World Entrepreneurship Forum in Emlyon France, International Council for Small Business (ICSB) to promote entrepreneurial activity in Pakistan. She was involved in the preparation of the case study and a training module for Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry WCCI. She has also hosted women entrepreneurs representing FLO (The women entrepreneurs from Indian Chamber) to talk about Entrepreneurship Development in Pakistan. At SURE she was responsible for building content on Entrepreneurship Policy and Ecosystem for Pakistan. The program content was delivered at various academic and nonacademic concerns. Sana has been involved in Training and Development Programs for Incubation of various kinds of Startups. She has been involved in setting up the Entrepreneurship and Incubation development at the Lahore School of Economics and the Social Enterprise Development at Institute for Business Administration Sukkur. She has explored entrepreneurship by working in various geographical locations across Pakistan. Sana has worked with SEDI in collaboration with International Council for Small Business (ICSB) to promote indigenous entrepreneurship in Kalash, Pakistan, where her work was featured in ICSB 2011 Summit at Sweden, and presented at academic institutes in Turkey. With her sound graduate training in business administration, and her passion for Entrepreneurship Development, she has established herself as one of the key members in the family of activists working towards the training and development of Incubating Businesses. She has been involved in setting up various startups and has been their business development consultant. Sana is not only well known in Pakistan, she also exudes global presence. She takes great pride in her association and training with INSEAD on Social Enterprise creation. Sana believes that women and student body are the future agents of change. This realization features in her continuous involvement with academia, both directly and indirectly. She has taught business development and entrepreneurship at LSE and IBA Sukkur, and remains involved with various initiatives . Sana is a strong believer and supporter of sustainable business models. In this capacity, she has worked with Microfinance Organizations on client exit programs where she was responsible for engaging with female entrepreneurs using the Micro Loans. Coming from a well-established agricultural background, she understands the local constraints, and proposes the need to develop processes for timely management of supply chains in agricultural and family businesses. She is also exploring business models for absentee farmer at the same time. With her sound graduate training in business administration, and her passion for Entrepreneurship Development, she has established herself as one of the key members in the family of activists working towards the training and development of Incubating Businesses. She has been involved in setting up various startups and has been their business development consultant. In addition to working with startups as a business development person, Sana also provides communications and marketing consultancies to bourgeoning and established enterprises. Her passion for Pakistan speaks to the audience, as she intentionally moderates sessions that create a long lasting impact. Contributing towards the development and promotion of Entrepreneurial content is her passion, and bringing everyone on board is her dream. Moderating conferences built on these dreams is the way she breathes lives into everyone around her.

Sarah Karim

Sarah Karim heads the Business School Careers Office at LUMS for MBA and Executive MBA Programmes. She has built this office at the outset to its current standing where it is ranked as one of the best career offices in the local academia. Earlier on, she helped develop the LUMS central career office to its full potential and played an instrumental role during its decentralization and the resulting transition and change management into the new structure. Having worked for almost a decade in facilitating graduate careers and counseling, she also provides HR consultancy to corporations and LUMS alumni in targeting and securing the best talent across diverse industries and functions. Sarah is passionate about social development and entrepreneurship. She is one of the founding Executive Committee members of the Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN), Lahore Chapter which works for facilitating entrepreneurship across Lahore and adjoining localities. She is also an active Rotarian and works with Rotary International, Lahore City - Mayo Gardens on their social impact and community services projects involving Polio, Literacy, Education etc. Being a core team member of Sarbarah, she is working with other board members to train the youth along key leadership areas and build a future leadership and impact chain that sustains and multiplies. Sarah holds a BSc Honors from LUMS and a Diploma in Human Resource Management.
