Jack L. Henningsen

Jack L. Henningsen has been litigating cases in the California state and federal courts since 1998. After practicing in large law firms for the first ten years of his career, Mr. Henningsen joined the Firm in 2008. Jack prides himself on providing his clients with the excellent quality of legal representation associated with a large law firm, coupled with the personalized attention and reasonable billing rates of a small law firm. Mr. Henningsen represents a wide variety of clients from large, multi-national corporations to individuals. His practice areas include business litigation, partnership and corporate litigation, employment litigation, securities litigation, homeowners' association disputes, premises liability litigation, and real estate and real property litigation. Mr. Henningsen has first chair jury trial experience where he has achieved successful outcomes in many cases. Mr. Henningsen also has extensive experience in arbitrations, where he has also achieved several very successful outcomes on behalf of his clients. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Henningsen often counsels clients in negotiating business transactions and helps them draft business agreements. Using his unique perspective as a litigator, Mr. Henningsen is often able to help clients avoid pitfalls and the possibility of future litigation by identifying and correcting problematic and poorly drafted contractual language at the outset. Mr. Henningsen obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Michigan, with honors, and graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he was a member of the Vanderbilt Law Review. In his spare time, Mr. Henningsen enjoys watching sports of all kinds, traveling, playing racquetball, and spending time with his family.

Lauren VanDenburg is a civil litigator who handles a broad range of business litigation and trial work for both plaintiffs and defendants. Lauren represents a diverse range of clients, including individuals, small businesses, startups, national corporations and Fortune 500 companies. Lauren's representations involve a comprehensive range of issues arising from commercial contracts, warranty and products liability, insurance, premises and transportation liability, partnership and joint venture disputes, real estate litigation, business torts, unfair competition and employment law. Lauren has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, law and motion, mediation and trial. Lauren started her legal career as a certified law clerk for the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. During her time at the DA's office, she regularly appeared in court to argue preliminary hearings and discovery motions. Lauren has been with our firm since 2013 and became partner in 2021. Lauren attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. While at Hastings, she served as Senior Production Editor for the Hastings Law Journal and was a Teaching Assistant for Legal Writing & Research and Moot Court. Prior to law school, she attended the University of California, Davis. At U.C. Davis, Lauren served as the finance president for her sorority and earned degrees in Economics and Political Science.

Marisa Tostado is a litigator with significant experience in business torts, insurance bad faith and coverage, premises liability, professional malpractice, and general civil litigation. Marisa obtained her B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles, cum laude. Matthew Wolf

Mr. Wolf has been a partner of the firm since 2012. Mr. Wolf is a business litigator and his practice is centered on providing individuals and businesses of all types with comprehensive legal representation, including contract negotiation and analysis, pre-lawsuit risk management and strategy development, and all phases of litigation and dispute resolution, including appeals. Mr. Wolf has focused his practice on efficiently and quickly analyzing cases and developing a sophisticated technical understanding of the issues addressing each matter. Mr. Wolf represents numerous clients in commercial litigation matters, including a focus on commercial disputes, executive compensation matters, real estate transactions and investments, and complex business disputes. Mr. Wolf devotes a significant portion of his practice to defending against catastrophic injury claims in the fields of commercial transport, hospitality, and premises liability. As part of the firm's full-service litigation and transactional practice, Mr. Wolf is also involved in representations involving intellectual property, partnership/joint venture, and unfair competition matters. In addition, Mr. Wolf's clients often retain him to act as appellate counsel in adjudicated matters. Throughout his career, Mr. Wolf has acted as lead and support counsel on numerous jury and bench trials that reached verdict, as well as multiple binding arbitrations. Mr. Wolf has deep experience with product warranty and liability based representations. He commenced his career at the international firm Jones Day, spending several years primarily defending against tobacco-based products liability suits. In the same time frame, Mr. Wolf represented international corporations in toxic tort disputes relating to product manufacturing. Mr. Wolf then spent several years at a leading real estate firm, Cox Castle & Nicholson LLP, litigating a broad variety of business and real estate related disputes. Later, at Dentons US LLP, Mr. Wolf spent years engaged in an intense, multi-billion dollar litigation behalf of a satellite manufacturing company arising from the engineering, technical development, deployment, and oversight of then-state of the art communications satellites and satellite-launching mechanisms. Mr. Wolf also occasionally represents plaintiffs in commercial litigation disputes. Mr. Wolf secured a multimillion-dollar settlement on behalf of his clients arising from a partnership dispute in the high-tech products industry, and recently secured a multi-million dollar judgment in a breach of contract action arising in the entertainment industry. Mr. Wolf also devotes time to pro bono matters and counseling individuals without significant financial resources.

Michael J. Hanna was admitted to practice in California in 1974. Mr. Hanna received his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was a member of the moot court honors program. Mr. Hanna has extensive private practice experience in real estate and financial transactions, including sale, lease, financing and development of commercial and residential projects, and low income housing transactions. Rubin M. Turner was admitted to practice in the State of California in 1962. He received his Juris Doctor degree from U.C.L.A. and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, California Supreme Court, and the United States District Courts of the Southern and Northern Districts. During his career Mr. Turner has been a part-time law professor of Real Property Law and Trusts, has authored various articles concerning real estate syndication and real estate transactions, and has lectured and participated in various business and legal panels. Mr. Turner has been practicing law in California for over fifty years, specializing in all aspects of corporate and real estate matters, with particular emphasis on the establishment of businesses and participation in their growth and development. He has been counsel to many public and private corporations and has assisted them in the practical application of preventive law. As a result of his broad and varied practice, as well as his multi-lingual skills, he has been able to counsel and guide the firm's national and international corporate and business clients through all phases of routine and complex business transactions. Many of Mr. Turner's clients view him as the equivalent of their "in-house" counsel and have enjoyed decades of advice and counsel which have contributed to the success and growth of their businesses.
