WOOD ENGINEERING

I am a (mostly) retired licensed professional and consulting engineer with expertise in the design and construction of wood structures. (Licenses in Idaho and Washington State still active.) I have also designed reinforced concrete structures and elements, structural steel, reinforced concrete and segmental block retaining walls, and other structural building elements and systems. I have extensive design, consulting, and teaching (University setting) experience. I have also practiced demolition engineering and mountain stream hydrology, and have served as an expert witness on building construction, hydrology, and structural failure cases. I have extensive experience in building code and standards writing, revisions and approvals, as well as building product acceptance criteria and building product evaluations.
