Dr. James Curtis Brown or Dr. Jay Cee Bee has dedicated more than 30 years of his academic, professional and community service experiences to raising the academic achievement and personal development levels of young people. Dr. Jay Cee Bee is currently an Administrative Educational Officer assisting the Queens South High Schools Superintendent. Among his many responsibilities, he is the chairperson of the District's Equity Team, the point person for the My Brother and Sister's Keepers and leadership coach to new and new building principals.

Dr. Jay Cee Bee

Dr. Jay Cee Bee is the co-author of Raising Scholars from Infancy to Adulthood: Preparing Our Children for College and Demolishing Prison Walls, a book on the effective parental practices that result in high academic achievement. Dr. Jay Cee Bee has been recognized by New York State Education Department recognized for leading a High Performing/Closing the Achievement Gap school and by a New York City Board of Education and Council of Supervisors and Administrators Performance Award winning school. Dr. Jay Cee Bee has authored three successful grants totaling nearly 1 million dollars.

Kyle V. Allman is the Senior Vice President, National Director, Multi Media Sales and Sponsorships for Black Enterprise, a multi-media company, which creates content across multiple platforms, networking and professional development events, and educational programs designed to meet the needs of the BLACK ENTERPRISE network. Mr. Allman originally joined BLACK ENTERPRISE in 1999 as a Circulation Manager for the Magazine. In that role he was responsible for all new business and renewal subscriptions as well as gift, cover wrap and insert programs related to maintaining and increasing magazine readership. In an effort to increase brand awareness, Kyle created the ‘Financial Empowerment Series', an after work financial-networking seminars for African American Professionals in 2004. While maintaining his circulation responsibilities, Mr. Allman developed and created the ‘Series' concept and agenda. Additionally, Mr. Allman was involved in the solicitation of sponsorship for the ‘Series'. This involvement led Mr. Allman to officially join the Sales department in 2005 selling across all medium under the BLACK ENTERPRISE umbrella. Mr. Allman now oversees the BLACK ENTERPRISE national sales team focused on creating cross platform media partnerships and event sponsorships of BLACK ENTERPRISE premier magazine, vibrant website, social media platforms, national events which include the BLACK ENTERPRISE Women of Power Summit, the BLACK ENTERPRISE Entrepreneurs Summit, Black Men Xcel Summit, and the BLACK ENTERPRISE Women of Power Tech Summit. Prior to joining BLACK ENTERPRISE, Mr. Allman served as a Circulation Manager for other magazines such as ICON (Men's thought style magazine) and Graphis (Visual Communication and Graphic Arts magazine). Kyle Allman received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business from Long Island University. Mr. Allman currently resides in New York with his wife, Cynthia Allman, who is a NYC Probation Officer and his son Kyle Allman Jr., who is a college graduate from Cal State Fullerton University and is currently a professional basketball player in Pairs, France.

Naima Robinson

Naima holds a Doctorate from Long Island University in Education Research. Her formal doctoral dissertation is entitled "Avoidance and Denial: How High School Teachers Manage Discussions About Race and Racism." An exploratory study grounded in Critical Race Theory and examining the racial literacy skills of high school teachers. Additionally, Naima has an M.S. Ed in Education Leadership, an M.S. in Social Studies Education, and a BA in History. Naima has been an educator for 13 years and is the daughter of an educator and a NYS Supreme Court Justice. She is a founder and director at Keeping Youth Challenged academic support program in North Amityville. KYC's mission is to provide academic enrichment to an underserved population. KYC is a volunteer based non profit that works with students in the local community ages 8-18. KYC supports students in writing fluency, reading comprehension, historical analysis, math application, and career readiness, with a focus on leadership and life skills. KYC helps to mitigate the damage of the racist public education system on Long Island. Naima has developed an extensive Black studies curriculum that she has been teaching at KYC for four years reaching over 100 local students. In her Black Studies class Students study history psychology, sociology, philosophy and economics. They read Charles Mills The Racial Contract, Ivan Van Sertima's They Came Before Columbus and Joy DeGruy's Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome. Her students explore Blackness as a Global Social Political Identity, race as a social construct, Reparations for the descendants of slaves, Ancient Kemet, Nubia and Kush, Nile Valley Civilization, Great Swahili kingdoms, Masa Musa, The Moors, Hannibal, the transatlantic slave trade, Slave revolts and revolutions, The Haitian Revolution, Slavery and capitalism, Genocide and colonialism, Black feminism, students personal experiences with Racial tensions, conflicts and stereotypes, African cultural and ethnic groups, colorism, internalized racism and white supremacy. She has a background in History and Women's Studies and a primary interest in issues of race, class, and gender equality in education. Her work helps students discover and evaluate the world around them and engage critically in active civil responsibility to make our community a better place.
