Araceli Granados Rojas

When she was 3 years old, Araceli watched her family and community fight for their land. Since then, she's helped steer La Colorada from surviving to thriving. Not only does the community now have their land, but they've also gone on to start programs that help sustain the community.

Aucencio Domenzain Martínez - Treasurer

Born in La California, Aucencio has been focused on bringing jobs to the community through agriculture. He is the President of The Lavender Project and oversees the production of natural lavender products grown in La Colorada. He also continues to inspire others by furthering his education. Aucencio is currently studying his bachelor's in Management and Business Development from Unviersity of Guanajuato, and holds a degree in Social Project Management from UNAM.

Carmela Rodríguez Rosas - President

  • Local Nurse
Carmela has served as the local nurse for years. Her daily work includes emergency medical home visits, and she is also an instrumental part of the medical transportation team. Along with Don Mariano, Carmela travels to homes and takes people to the nearby hospital. Without her, many people in this community would not receive access to emergency medical care.

Laura Cuellar Martinez

I am 20 years old and I am from the community of La Colorada and I am currently working in the community library of Adelante Juntos por la Colorada, where besides offering me a job they are supporting me with a scholarship to study the university, it is without a doubt an association committed to the well-being and development of my community and without a doubt I am very grateful.

Lee Gentry

As mother, partner and entrepreneur, Lee supports global projects that help communities to thrive. She was a Director of The Lavender Project as well as the first President of Adelante Juntos por La Colorada. She has one important belief: the desire to change the lives of women and girls.

Lucia Monjaras Hernandez

Job Titles:

  • AJC Board Secretary
Lucia is the AJC board secretary, and mother of 7 children. Before joining the board, she previously worked in the community center and prepared the atole for 3 years in the breakfast program. She dreams of a future that is powerful, protective and helpful for her community.

Mariano Enriquez

Job Titles:
  • Manager, the Medical Transportation Program
As the driver and manager of the Medical Transportation Team, Mariano works with nurse Carmela to transport members of the community from their homes to the nearby medical facility in Dolores Hidalgo. He started working as a driver with the Lavender Project in 2006, and transitioned to the medical transportation team a few years later.

Sophia A. Trapp

Job Titles:

  • Consultant
Sophia is an architect and farmer, clean food advocate, and mother on a mission to support human dignity through sustainability. Sophia currently serves on several boards of international environmental foundations, and directs La Cañada de la Virgen, a certified organic holistic livestock ranch and national park located outside of San Miguel de Allende.
