BIO-AI LAB

The computer science department at UiT in Tromsø has over decades been doing experimental research on computer systems that included data analysis as an integral part. There was the rapidly growing interest in artificial intelligence, both from science and from society in general, combined with exciting biological challenges researchers at the department have been working on together with partners from physics and biology. This has naturally led to what now is the Bio-AI Lab which facilitates the conduction of cutting-edge AI research and its applications in biology, and that also serves as a space for collaboration and student education... We are a team of computer scientists with expertise on artificial intelligence, who collaborate intensively with biologists, microscopists, physicists, clinical doctors, and health scientists.
