Blackpool Keidokwai Judo Club was founded in 1942 making it one of the first judo clubs in the country. The club and its teachings are closely aligned to those of the founder of judo Jigoro Kano. Whilst we ensure that students are aware of the latest rules and competition guidance, our focus is to teach... We work to ensure that our classes are focused on meeting the needs of our students using a range of methods to ensure the classes remain both interesting and varied. The teaching style is focused on a collaborative style of learning. Even with our youngest junior players, we encourage students to not just learn techniques, but to understand how these work, and to experiment with how they can make these work for their style. This not only produces better judo players, but provides a good foundation for understanding movement, balance, and posture that is usable across a range of sports...
