Bridget Fakaros

Bridget has a background in business management and residential property management, specializing in customer service. Bridget had no idea the impact this industry would have on her nor the passion she has to communicate with residents and their families. Bridget Says, "The Assisted Living industry has by far been the most meaningful career I have ever been apart of. The work I do makes a real difference in someone's life. I can build connections with people that I may never had a chance to get. At BrightStar everyday is a little different." This is where she belongs and cannot imagine herself doing anything else. She is very grateful for the opportunity to learn more from seniors and carry their wisdom and advice in her own life as she feels at home here at Brightstar between every resident and staff member.

Hazel Tracy

Hazel graduated from the University of Saint Francis right here in Fort Wayne Indiana in December of 2012 with a degree in Nursing. Prior to obtaining her nursing degree she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years in long term care communities in the area. Hazel started her nursing career as a Cardiovascular Nurse in the intensive care unit at Parkview Regional Memorial Hospital. She found her calling in Senior living in 2015 when she was instrumental in the opening of a new long term care community in her hometown of Kendallville, IN. Since 2015 she has worked in the Senior Living industry allowing her experience and love for the senior population to grow. Hazel's role as the communities Health and Wellness Director is to ensure that every resident's health is maintained and that they thrive in our community. She ensures that the State of Indiana's health care regulations are followed allowing your loved ones a safe and secure place to call home. Outside of work Hazel has a busy home with her husband of 17 years and her four children. Hazel is a farm girl at heart and loves working outdoors with her animals on the Trollbridge farm. Hazel is excited to be able to welcome you into our family and make BrightStar Senior Living the best place to live and work in Fort Wayne!

Jay Abeykoon

I hold a Bachelor's in Health from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and an Associate's in Practical Nursing from Rasmussen College in Moorhead, Minnesota. I had the opportunity to assist many patients and families in North Dakota and Minnesota and look forward to meeting and serving Waunakee and other neighboring Communities.

Kerry Hadley

Kerry has always had a passion for serving others. He enjoys the many skills, opportunities, and relationships he has acquired while working in this community. Kerry creates a culture of camaraderie and service among his team that promotes the very best care and customer service for residents. In Kerry's spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Kerry loves the residents he serves and looks forward every day to ensuring their comfort and happiness. Leslie Sibert

Leslie has an extensive career in dementia with many years of training and certification. She has offered her serving heart in healthcare since 1994. She has been married for 18 years to her husband Tommy. Together they are raising a wonderful son who is 17 years old, Lotus. As a family they are all very involved in the community, we love having them around! Offering our seniors opportunities and assistance to enjoy living life is what brings her joy. Leslie says, "This is my favorite verse, 1 Corinthians 13;4, 7-8. Life always comes back to love, because love is not a memory it's a feeling, it's a feeling I'm home. Home is where the heart is, so I always try to approach each person differently as though they are my best friend and, in that moment, they are all that matters." Patsy Wills

Patsy has played a strong role in the develop of our community operations. We are proud of her continuous development and career growth within our community. Patsy says, "I'm in this industry to serve people with love and joy in everything I do, it is something my dad taught me. I came to Brightstar through an agency and fell in love with the community culture, leadership and most importantly, our residents. When I was offered to stay full time, God had placed me exactly where I needed to be." Her drive for perfecting our residents 5-star dining experience has opened the door to being our Dining room supervisor as she goes above and beyond to customize our residents' experience. Patsy understands the needs to meet our community's various cultural groups as she has a unique service towards making everyone feel at home. She supervises successfully managing state guidelines as she ensures the production of food that meets the BrightStar Standard. Patsy leads cooking demonstrations that are hands-on as they are an effective way to bring back memories and keep food traditions alive. We love that she does such a great job at accessing these valuable memories of our loved ones past adventures. Her philosophy to seeing food has the power to bring people together like almost nothing else bright pure joy to our community. Patsy has a new way to turn the dining table into a top spot for engagement. She has an incredible heart for serving our seniors as she works along the side of our registered dietarians to meet daily nutrition value. Giving our loved ones healthy, diverse, and exciting engaging opportunities that appeal to our resident's love for food as they have various options to choose from daily. Extensive experience in managing all facets of business operations, sales and marketing techniques, and staff performance. Recognized for spearheading initiatives that focus on attaining strategic goals, fostering community development, and "making things happen". Capable of building rapport with individuals of diverse backgrounds, with the ability to thrive under high pressure and fast-paced environments. Shannon strives to create a warm, comfortable community that enhances the lives of seniors and their families. Shannon's goal is to help people live well with grace and dignity through listening and respecting each other; creating an environment that allows others to live life to the fullest as they write yet another very important chapter in their life. Her vision is to help lead others to do right and to do the one thing that will make a difference in someone else's life. Simple things such as always saying "hello" and greeting residents and guests by name. She truly believes happiness can be richer when shared with others, especially as we walk with families through each new journey with genuine understanding and increasing support as their skills and responsibilities change. Stephanie greets our guests and assists our residents with a beautiful smile and warming heart. Stephanie has been with BrightStar since March of 2020 starting as a Care giver then becoming our Admin Assistance and has now advanced to becoming our Admin Assistance. Stephanie does a great job at coming along the side of our community members to see the delivery of our daily operations. Stephanie has always enjoyed making connections with our residents. As our Assistant Administrator, this has allowed her to do just this and much more! Most of all she has a heart that loves serving our residents with joy and dignity. The more she worked with senior residents, she realized how much Joy she felt in their presence. She loves their wisdom, history, and appreciation for even the smallest amount of assistance provided. She is extremely passionate about assuring that she provides the best care possible to our residents.
