He has a strong focus on the prevention of colon cancer through early detection and is equally focused on helping people and making a positive contribution to society.

Dr Azhar Ghumman

Azhar is a Consultant Gastroenterologist focused on providing quality colonoscopy and gastrointestinal cancer diagnosis and prevention services. He values the innovation of medical strategies and technologies to improve his practice and strives to use his experience to help make positive changes in patients' lives. During Azhar's time in Sydney, he was one of only a few gastroenterologists in Australia to work with robotic colonoscopy techniques and to run an associated pilot research project. Also in Sydney, he was involved with research to evaluate the efficacy of newer imaging techniques in colonoscopy. Currently, Azhar offers his services with Colonoscopy Clinic and at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. He is also fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.

Dr Madhavi Kasi

Dr Madhavi Kasi is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with experience in general gastroenterology and liver disease. She has published work on functional gastrointestinal disorders and has been part of multiple local and national studies. She has participated in international research concerning surveillance endoscopy for Barrett's oesophagus and bowel cancer prevention. Madhavi is committed to excellent communication and patient-centred focus care. Madhavi graduated from the NTR University of Health Sciences in India in 2004 after successfully completing a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She commenced practicing in the UK and completed gastroenterology training at the Nottingham University Hospital. She achieved a hepatology and liver transplant fellowship from the University of Cambridge, UK. She holds membership with the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), UK, and the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP). Madhavi practised at the Royal Derby Hospital in the UK before moving to Australia. She has worked as a fellow at the Gold Coast University Hospital and a consultant in gastroenterology and hepatology at The Prince Charles Hospital in Chermside, Brisbane, where she also trains medical students and gastroenterology trainees. She is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Queensland (GESQ), Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), and United European Gastroenterology (UEG).

Dr Nasser Lafta

Nasser is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with a particular interest in colorectal cancer screening and prevention, interventional colonoscopy, and eosinophilic oesophagitis. He takes pride in managing gastrointestinal problems and detecting and preventing colorectal cancer. In addition, he enjoys seeing his patients progress through the journey of diagnosis and treatment to help improve their quality of life.
