Biography Dr Jennifer Wild is a consultant clinical psychologist, associate professor and NIHR Oxford Health BRC Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. Her area of expertise is in developing and evaluating evidence-based interventions for improving resilience to stress, including PTSD and complex grief. Dr Wild has worked in an advisory role to the Cabinet Office on best practice for developing preventative interventions for individuals, such as emergency responders, who will be regularly exposed to trauma. She has over 70 publications, including book chapters, and a recently published popular science book on resilience: Be Extraordinary: 7 Key Skills to Transform Your Life from Ordinary to Extraordinary. Dr Wild regularly appears in the media giving advice rooted in science on how to overcome trauma-related difficulties.

Dr Michael Duffy

In this online workshop Michael shares his amazing work and includes contributions from two of his clients. Dr Michael Duffy Is a Consultant Cognitive Psychotherapist specialising in PTSD and complex grief and Senior Lecturer and Director of the Specialist MSc (Trauma) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Queen's University Belfast. He leads the QUB Trauma Research Network; is a Fellow of the Centre for Evidence and Social Innovation; Assoc. Fellow of the George J Mitchell Institute for Global Peace Security & Justice and Fellow of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy. Michael is research/clinical advisor to the Northern Ireland Regional Trauma Network and a member of the UK Trauma Council. Michael led the work of the Trauma team after the Omagh bombing in Northern Ireland in 1998 and has published research on the psychological effects of this event on adults, children and adolescents. He later was Team Leader at the Northern Ireland Centre for Trauma (NICTT) and led 2 clinical trials on the application of TF-CT for conflict related PTSD. Michael has provided many workshops on PTSD after large scale traumas including: 2004, New York the 9/11 Twin Towers attack; 2005, 7/11 London bombings; 2012 Oslo bombing and Utoya Island shootings; 2017, the Manchester Concert bomb. Michael's main research focus has been on PTSD and evidence-based psychological interventions. His current research is on PTSD with children who have been maltreated or abused and new cognitive approaches for complex grief and complex PTSD. Dr Nick Grey

Nick is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and University of Sussex, and a member of the Wellcome Anxiety Disorders Group at University of Oxford. Jacqueline Persons

Dr Persons is Director of the Oakland Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center in Oakland, California. Dr Persons might be known to many of you because of her ground breaking book 'Case Formulation'. She is also a prolific researcher who combines her academic interests with a busy clinical role. She specialises in treating depression and anxiety in adults, and in providing training and consultation to professionals. Jackie was a pioneer of integrating research with clinical practice and has had a major influence on national and international clinical practice. Dr. Persons obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979, and has worked in a private practice setting providing CBT, training and consultation to professionals, and research, for more than 35 years. She is also Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Persons is a clinician, teacher, consultant and supervisor, researcher, and writer. She has an international reputation in the field, and is often invited to speak at conferences and to do trainings locally, in the USA, and around the world. Dr. Persons has made two distinctive contributions to the field. One is her work on the topic of case formulation in cognitive behaviour therapy - that is, the process of developing a hypothesis about the factors that cause and maintain a person's problems that the clinician can use to guide intervention. Second, she is an outstanding model of the clinician who makes research contributions while working in a clinical setting. A 30-minute video clip produced by the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology, in which Dr. Persons describes how she developed a career in which she conducts research in a clinical setting, is posted here. Dr. Persons was elected president of the Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies in 2002, and of the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology in 1999. She is also Distinguished Founding Fellow, Certified Cognitive Therapist, and Certified Trainer/Consultant of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy; recipient of the Outstanding Clinician award from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies in 2008; and recipient of the Distinguished Contributions to Applied Research and Practice in Psychology award from the American Association of Applied and Preventive Psychology in 1996. She has authored 3 books, 6 DVDs, and more than 70 articles and chapters.

Jason Roscoe

Prof Louise Sharpe

Professor Louise Sharpe is a clinical psychologist by training who worked in clinical roles in the National Health Service in the UK before completing her PhD at The University of London in health psychology. She is currently a Professor of Clinical Psychology and Director, Graduate Research in the Deputy Vice Chancellor Education's portfolio at the University of Sydney. She researches the interface between clinical and health psychology, focused on the development of clinically significant psychological problems in people with a range of chronic health conditions, including pain, cancer and multi-morbidity. She has published more than 275 peer-reviewed publications. She has received awards from the Australian Psychological Society and The Australian Association for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (AACBT) for her contribution to clinical psychology and cognitive behavior therapy. Rod Holland

Rod is a clinical psychologist and previously managed psychological therapy services in a large London NHS Trust. He has been involved in the CBT world through his career. This includes being President of the European Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy (EABCT) from 2010 to 2016. He is currently a Board member of the World Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies. Rod has a long association with the organisation of CBT conferences in the UK, Europe and a number of World Congresses. He has also contributed to the development of training standards and accreditation for CBT in the UK and Europe.

Shirley Reynolds

Shirley's background is mainly in clinical training and research. She qualified as a clinical psychologist is 1987. From 2012 to 2019 she was Director of the Charlie Waller Institute at Reading University, Before that Shirley was Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology at Norwich Medical School and worked as a clinical researcher for the Medical Research Council at the University of Sheffield. Shirley was President of the of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy (BABCP) from 2010 to 2012 and continues to work closely with BABCP as part of the scientific committee. Shirley is an honorary fellow of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). She is also currently working for BABCP as their Senior Clinical Advisor.
